The visit to this beautiful hills has always been so refreshing and energizing experience to me and my friends. We travelled uphill by road enjoying the scenic views around the hills. Though it was evening time, the temple was not much crowded and we had a peaceful dharsan of special aarti at 17:00 hours followed by the Golden ratyatra.
The mangla aarti performed alongwith devotional live music (being played daily during the aarti times) was so engaging and infused more spiritual vibes into us. And finally, the setting Sun at the east was an another wonder we enjoyed from the hill top, before travelling down...
Read moreHill Road is good.. Early morning timing, late evening will be good to visit.. 6AM to 6PM only allowed to hill temple.. Very old temple..nice place for peace.. Good car parking space.. Nice view from the top.. Public toilet is there.. Beware of Monkeys.. avoid carrying edibles.. specifically avoid giving it to kids.. especially bananas.. Do not use plastics.. Limitted snacks available.. But not maintained properly inside the hill temple.. In summer, it will be very difficult for kids and elders to walk around inside temple without cheppal.. Steps to visit 63 nayanmars also not proper.. Lot of Shiva lingam...

You should be aware of the monkey menace, due to people feeding monkeys but that does not take away the breathtaking beauty of the views from the hill top and Arthanareeswarar temple. You are only allowed to go up the hill before 6 pm. It is endearing to watch hundreds of people walking barefoot, doing girivalam (ie, walk around the hill which houses the Shiva temple) during auspicious days.
People of Erode and the surrounding areas are among the gentlest and the most courteous you will ever come across...
