🌿மாகாளர், கடுவெளிச் சித்தர் முதலியோர் வழிபட்டுப் பேறு பெற்ற ஸ்தலம்.

🌿திருஞான சம்பந்தர் பாடல் பெற்ற தொண்டை நாட்டுத் தலம்.

🌿பாடல் பெற்ற தொண்டை நாட்டுத் தலங்களுள் இரும்பை 32 வது தலமாக விளங்குகிறது. பட்டினத்தாரும் இராமலிங்க அடிகளாரும் இவ்விறைவனைப் புகழ்ந்து பாடியுள்ளார்.

🌿திருத்தலபுராணம் : மஹாகாலன் எனும் திருப்பெயருடன் விளங்கும் திருத்தலங்கள் மூன்று உள்ளன. மத்திய பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள உஜ்ஜயினி, மயிலாடுதுறை அருகேயுள்ள அம்பர் மாகாளம் மற்றும் விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள இரும்பை இம்மூன்றும் மஹாகால க்ஷேத்திரங்களாகும்.

🌿கடுவெளிச்சித்தர் எனும் ஒரு மகான் மகாகாளேசுவரர் ஆலயத்தின் எதிரேயுள்ள குளக்கரை அரசமரத்தின் அடியில் அமர்ந்து சிவபெருமானை நோக்கி கடுந்தவம் புரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அவரது மேனியை புற்று மூடிவிட்டது. ஒரு கரமும், சிரமும் மட்டுமே வெளியே தெரிகின்றன. அவரது தவம் கலைந்த பின் அவர் அருளால் மட்டுமே மழை பெய்யும். பஞ்சம் நீங்கும் என்ற விவரத்தை அக்குறுநில மன்னன் அறிந்தான். இதற்குத் தீர்வு காண மன்னன் இச்செய்தியை நாடு முழுவதும் பறை சாற்றினான். சித்தரின் தவம் கலைத்து மழை பொழியச் செய்வோருக்கு ஏராளமான பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்படும் என்று அறிவித்தான். ஆனால் முனி சாபத்துக்கு அஞ்சி எவருமே முன்வரவில்லை. அந்நாட்டு நடன மாது ஒருத்திக்கு மட்டும் துனிச்சல் வந்தது. சித்தர் தவம் செய்யும் இடம் சென்று வணங்கி நின்றாள். அப்போது காய்ந்த அரசமரத்து இலை சித்தரின் கையில் விழுவதையும், அதையும் காற்றையும் உண்டு கடுவெளிசித்தர் தன் பசி போக்கி தவத்தில் இருப்பதைக் கண்டாள். உடனே அவளுக்கு ஒரு யோசனை தோன்றியது.

🌿வீட்டுக்குச் சென்று அரசஇலை வடிவில் உப்பு, காரம் இவற்றைச் சேர்த்து அப்பளம் செய்து மீண்டும் அரச மரத்தடி வந்தாள் நடன மாது. அந்த அரச இலை வடிவிலான அப்பளத்தை சித்தரின் கையில் போட முனிவரும் அதை உண்டார். உண்டவுடன் நாவில் ருசி ஏற்பட சித்தரின் தியானம் கலைந்தது. கண் விழித்த சித்தர் தன் எதிரில் நின்ற அழகிய நடனமாதைக் கண்டார். அவள் தவமுனிவரை வணங்கினாள். சித்தரும் தன் தவம் கலைந்த நிலையில் அவள் நோக்கத்தையும் உணர்ந்து கொண்டு அவளை ஆசீர்வதித்தார். அவளுடைய இல்லம் சென்று அவளது பாத புஜையை ஏற்றார். அதன் பிறகு பஞ்சப் பிணியிலிருந்த அந்நாட்டில் பலத்த மழை பெய்தது. நாடே மகிழ்ச்சி வெள்ளத்தில் மூழ்கியது. விவரங்களை மன்னன் அறிந்தான். கடுவெளிச் சித்தரும் நடன மாதும் மன்னன் அரண்மனை சென்றனர். ராஜ மரியாதையை ஏற்ற சித்தரும். நடன மாதுவும் இல்லம் திரும்பினர்.

🌿சில மாதங்கள் கழித்து மஹாகாளேஷ்வருக்கு பிரம்மோற்சவம் நடைபெற்றது. அதில் ஒரு நடன நிகழ்ச்சியும் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது. சித்தரின் தவம் கலைத்த நடன மாதுதான் அங்கே ஆடினாள். அரசனின் வேண்டுகோளுக்கு ஏற்ப அந்த மங்கை ருத்ரதாண்டவம் ஆடிய போது அவள் கால் சலங்கை கழன்று கீழே விழுந்தது. உடனே அருகிலிருந்து ரசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சித்தர் எவ்விதத் தீய நோக்கமும் இன்றி அச்சலங்கையை அவள் காலில் கட்டி விட்டார். இதைக் கண்ட மக்கள் சித்தரின் பெருமை தெரியாது அவரை பழித்தனர்.  இதனால் கோபம் கொண்ட முனிவர். மஹாகாலேஸ்வர் சந்நிதிக்கு விரைந்தார். கூடவே மன்னனும், மக்களும் சென்றனர். தன் கடுங்கோபத்தை பாடலாக்கினார் சித்தர். எல்லாம் தெரிந்திருந்தும் தெரியாததுபோல் "புல்லரிவரெல்லாம் என் பெயரது அறியாமல் சொல்லினாற் சுட்டனர்" என சித்தமும் கொதிக்க நீ கல்லும் பிளந்து கடுவெளியாக மாகாளீசனே! என்றார். உடனே மூலவரது சிவலிங்கத்தின் பாணப் பகுதி மூன்றாக வெடித்துச் சிதறியது. இதன் ஒரு பகுதி 5 கி.மீ தொலைவில் விழுந்தது. வெடித்த பகுதியில் இருந்து இறைவனும் இறைவியும் தோன்றி சித்தரை அமைதிப்படுத்தினர். இக்காட்சி மன்னனுக்கும் நடன மாதுக்கும் மட்டுமே தெரிய மற்றவர்களுக்கு ஜோதியாக தெரிந்தது. சித்தரின் மகிமையை அறிந்த அனைவரும் வணங்கி மன்னிப்பு கேட்டனர். மனம் குளிர்ந்த சித்தர் உடைந்த லிங்கத்தை ஒன்று சேர மீண்டும் பாடினார். எட்டு இரண்டும் அறிந்த என்தனை எட்டு இரண்டும் அறிந்த உன்தனை எட்டு இரண்டும் அறிந்த அத்தனை எட்டு இரண்டும் ஒன்றதாகுமே என்றார் உடனே வெடித்த சிவலிங்கம் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து பிறகு சித்தரின் திருக்கரத்தால் செப்புத் தகட்டினால் பந்தனம் செய்தனர் என்றாலும் வெடித்த வடி இன்னமும் உள்ளதைக் காண முடிகிறது. இதன் பின் அப்பகுதி வாழ் மக்களும் எக்குறையும் இன்றி வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர். இதனிடையே பின்னமான மூலவருக்கு பதிலாக மாற்று லிங்கம் அமைக்க காசியிலிருந்து புதிய லிங்கம் கொண்டு வந்து அதை மாற்றிட சிலர் முயன்றனர். அப்போது வானில் ஒரு அசரீரி ஒலித்தது. என்னை அகற்ற வேண்டாம் என்ற சொல் கேட்க உடைந்த லிங்கமே மூலவராக...

This temple is situated off Tindivanam to Pondicherry road.nesr Morratandi.One of the Devara Padal Petra sthalam and 32 in Thondai Nadu. This is one of the places where the Shiva Lingam is said to have been installed and worshipped by Mahakala Rishi.

Temple is associated with Saint Kaduveli Siddhar. Siddhar took penance here, throughout his hard penance, there was no rain,and the place becomes drought, the people grieved to the Ling Kulothungan, the king announced the reward to halt the penance, tempted this reward a dancing girl Valli ended the Siddhar penance,and the place over get back greener.

The King celebrated this event by performing special poojas at this temple, Valli is supposed to performing cosmic dance. Kaduveli Siddhar who saw Lord Shiva in the form of dancer, ,during her dance performance one of anklet fell down from her feet, Siddhar picked up the anklet and out it back on her feet, the people and the King have exposed the contemt about touched the dancer. The Siddhar asked Lord Shiva to come our of his temple and prove his innocence by letting a rain of stones,and wherever the fragments fell, that place becomes desert,the Siddhar cursed that place would become uninhabited.

Suddenly the Lingam in the Sanctum exploded in three pieces, on realising the truth and power of the Siddharத,the King repented and pleased him the effect of the curse, the Siddhar was relieved by the King request and said that although I could not change what had already happened, in the future, people from far off nation's would come and make the deserted place green and fertile again..

Further, the Siddhar also requested to mend the broken Shivalingam, he sang the hymns to join the broken fragments, when he finished his hymns the fragments were joined together. Presently the villagers feel that the Auroville,the people from far off Nations that the Siddhar mentioned and that the curse is now beginning to leave.

The presiding deity is Suyambu Lingam called Sri Mahakaleshwarar and Goddess Sri Kuyil Mozhi Nayaki/ Sri Madhu Sundara Nayaki.there are shrines for Vinayaka, Murugan with his consorts,and Navagrahas with their respective consorts.

Sri Madhusundara Nayaki sametha Sri Mahakaleshwarar temple in Irumbai is the 32nd Thondai Nadu (last one) and one of the Devara paadal petra sthalam. A simple temple structure greets devotees as they approach this place. A beautiful pond, well maintained is just outside the temple doors

In the main sanctum santorum, we find Lord Shiva blessing devotees as Sri Mahakaleshwarar (One who is Time himself) along with Sri Madhusundara Nayaki or Kuyilmozhi Ammai (One who's voice is as sweet as a Nightingale's). The Lingam is broken in 3 places and tied together with a copper string. There's also a relief for Kaduveli Siddhar who is considered to have done severe penance in this place for many years. There are 3 Mahakaleshwar temples in India - one at Ujjain, another at Ambar, and the third one here, all created by Sage Mahakala. Also, present in the main hall is the Ananda Nataraja Sabhai, where the Lord Nataraja is immersed in his cosmic dance with a beautiful smiling visage

This is a temple with a rich Hindu religious significance with Lord Shiva enacting His cosmic drama through Kaduveli Siddhar and there is definitely an aura around the temple of miracles!

Goshta devatas include Sri Ganesha, Dakshinamoorthy, Lingothbavar, Valli Devasena sametha Subramanya Swamy, Brahmma, Devi, Chandikeswarar, Bairavar, Soorya, and Chandra as well as Navagrahas. Unlike other temples, Navagrahas are depicted with their consorts here, which is a specialty that you will not see elsewhere. There is a kodimaram and Nandi in front of the temple

This is temple is believed to have existed in the 7th century and the vimanam or tower displays the Ekadala (single tier) style of architecture. The temple priest is very helpful and patiently manages the devotees with a smile and understanding nature.
