Upper Sholayar Dam — Attraction in Tamil Nadu

Sholayar Dam, in Tamil nadu state in India, is located at about 20 km from Valparai and 80 km from Pollachi. Actually there are two Sholyar dams exist at a distance of 20 km. The one in Tamilnadu where tourists are allowed, is called Upper Sholayar dam and the other is located in Kerala, called as the Lower Sholayar Dam. Upper Sholayar Dam is a scenic spot on the Valparia-Athirapally route. The Dam as such is not very great and the entry is permitted only to a very short stretch. There is a small area for parking near the dam but you can see the reservoir and the dam enroute. The Dam also provides good views of area downstream to the Dam. Also there is a park next to the Dam and you can also enjoy the water streaming out of the Dam as you move further down...

We had a peaceful, lovely evening at the sholayar dam.. Around 6pm, we watched a lovely Sunset... Sun with beuty in golden red and differeing shades going down with cloud escort all painted near red and orange..

Lovely sight, great palce to be in the evenings.. with cool breeze and setting sun and a loving family to be with .. I am feeling lucky, that I had sucha great evening to last for...
