Treat this as my Personal Experience. Tourist place around Theni is not subjected to review, rather it needs to be feel from inside.

River is exactly located in the way from THENI(TN60) to SABARIMALA.

Most and must visit Riverstream. Originating from Mullai Periyar Dam - Kerala, river fullfilling the Agricultural/Harvesting needs, drinking water needs and Irrigation in Theni, Madurai & Sivagangai Dt.!!! One of the main source of water for Vaigai Dam.!!!

Veerapandi Gowmariyamman Temple located alongside of this river, is the District most important festival.!! Celebrated for a week, (May-10 ~ May 17 2022), attracts lot of devotees from all over Tamilnadu. Trusted as most Powerful Amman.!!!

Devotees follows Fasting and took FirePots to show their honor to God, on fulfilling their prayers.! Men's will disguise them with soil wrapped over the body and dance from this river bed to the temple.!!! Believed this Mineral rich soil treats skin.

Avoid alcohol consumption in this place as this place is visited by family, kids and ladies.

Avoid diving in the river as the flow will be turbulent.!!! Enjoy bath near the shore.. The river flow viewed from the Bridge is eyecatchy.!!!

There was dedicated Dress changing room available for Ladies. Check the local people to know the location.!

Devotees / tourist must visit both the Gowmariyamman temple and Lord Shiva temple along this...

Definitely a 5 star for the beautiful green view and that water falling from the check dam but the worst part is some people use the place as toilet. ( Request to the Government or authorities is that a facility should be made for the people or those who come here to go to the toilet ). * Better enjoy the view from the veerapandi bridge across the river. * The check dam is not too deep and you can walk along the top of the check dam.
