Read moreI would like to share my experience of trekking . We went last weekend(27th March). We took train from Chennai to reach Coimbatore . Went to Isha and Adhi yogi on saturday morning , Had our lunch at isha . It was very nice . From Isha , We have Share Autom which cost 10 rs per person to reach Poondi ( Velliangiri Hill Adivaram ) , We took Rest for 2 to 3 hrs . Evening We took bath ( Facilities are normal ), had annadhanam rice , visited the velliangiri temple located down hill . Once done , We took Moongil Stick ( Highly highly Recommended even though if you are professional trekker). Ladies between 10 years and 50 years not allowed for this trek .Queue was very high for baggage checking from volunteer to avoid plastic. So our team of 15 people started the first hill at 7:30 PM with torch light. Myself and my friend were very enthusiastic to proceed first . Since We used to go for walking 8 km daily , we felt it was ok otherwise it is full of stone step , it will drain your energy off. But once you see Vellai Vinayagar ( First Hill Completion ) you will get a happiness which will make you to move further .After First hill , You will see shop which sells Lemon Soda , Biscuits . Then again we started with our journey to second hill which is having steps as well as Vazhakku parai . Compared to first hill , it is easy to climb . At the End of second hill , You will find Pambatti Siddhar Cave where you will get sunai water . Since this is season time , you will find shops . Third and Fourth again it is steep and little tough , At the end of Fourth hill , you will see level road which goes up and down . It will go on on on ,bt after crossing bheeman stone , you will see the 7th hill . Do not get frightened on that as you need to go down the 6th hil and then have to climb 7th hill . Down part of 6th hill is very steep and slippery . At the end of 6th hill , you can take bath and go ahead with 7th hill . Now comes toughest part , 7th hill is open and very steep , you need to climb with both the hands , it will go on and on . But After reaching the top you will get satisfied . We stayed in the Top of hill for 3 hrs , it was damn cold ( please bring necessary sweater ) . After seeing the sun rise we started back down hill which is tough compared to going up hill . Since sunday was panguni Uthiram , more lakh climbed due to which jam happened which made us to stand 3 hrs at same place . We atlast reached down at 4 pm in evening . Finally we achieved it . Key points to be noted : mind set should be there to climb , few people in our group came down in 2nd hill itself , few after seeing 7th hill returned back .So one must have self confidence in going further the hill .We survived with lemon soda , biscuit for 20 hrs ( due to jam in crowd while returning it took time ) else for climbing if you are fit , you can complete in 6 hrs and return by 7 to 8 hrs . Take Torch light while going in night ( preferred time to climb) , Glucose , you can wear shoe till 5th hill but remove it in 6 and 7th hill to avoid slipping . while return please wear shoe in first hill . But I recommend everyone to go for this trek . It will turn your mind , make you fully refreshed , healthy ,...
