My recent visit to Wellington Lake was nothing short of a fantastic experience. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this serene lake offered a tranquil escape that left me rejuvenated. Here's why I had such a wonderful time:

Solitude and Serenity: One of the standout features of Wellington Lake was the blissful lack of crowds. It felt like a hidden gem, providing the perfect opportunity to connect with nature without the distractions of large crowds. The peaceful ambiance allowed me to truly unwind and immerse myself in the beauty of the surroundings.

Scenic Boat Ride: The highlight of my visit was the boat ride, which was nothing short of amazing. What made it even more special was the fact that I had the entire lake to myself – no one else in sight. Gliding across the clear, calm waters while being surrounded by lush greenery was an experience I won't soon forget.

Privacy: The privacy offered at Wellington Lake was a true luxury. It's rare to find a natural attraction where you can enjoy the tranquility and beauty without interruption. Whether it was a leisurely walk along the shore or simply sitting by the water, I cherished the privacy this place provided.

Excellent Parking Facilities: The convenience of ample and well-maintained parking cannot be understated. It made the visit hassle-free, allowing me to focus on enjoying the natural beauty without worrying about finding a parking spot.

Clean and Well-Maintained Restrooms: Another aspect worth mentioning was the cleanliness and maintenance of the restrooms. In a natural setting like this, having access to clean facilities was a welcome surprise and added to the overall comfort of the visit.

In conclusion, Wellington Lake is a hidden oasis of tranquility and natural beauty. The lack of crowds, the breathtaking boat ride, the sense of privacy, excellent parking, and well-maintained facilities all contributed to an unforgettable experience. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat to connect with nature and escape the city's chaos, I highly recommend a visit to Wellington Lake. It's a true gem waiting to...

The place is wonderful, it is located just a little far off to the Military College Area. Some interesting things about this lake were:

  1. Boating: The lake has a boating spot with pedalled boats which can carry upto 4, with 2 active pedallers.

  2. Good Atmosphere + Points of Interest : The atmosphere is very fresh and clean, while it is not very crowded as well. The lake area also has about a dozen or more goose along with an enclosure for hamsters as well.

There is also an "I ♥️ MY DEFENCE FORCES" sign right off to the north-west of the entrance, which is good for photos.

  1. Low cost: the ticket costs are very less compared to places like Sims Park, and the boating costs only ₹10 per person as well.

  2. Since there is very less crowd, the lake is also a perfect spot for having lunch or snacks like a picnic.

Cons:

  1. The water ATM at the park doesn't work, it got rusted and since finding drinking water is very difficult in the area, so we had to search for a while afterwards as well. The shops on the way towards the Army Museum has...

Wellington Lake is nestled in the Keelachiruvoi Village . It is the 2nd largest lake in the Tamil Nadu region and has picturesque views with sky-high trees. A Fascinating viewpoint for nature lovers and a famous picnic spot for families. Here you can enjoy an adventurous trek or relax and pamper your senses amid lush greenery surrounding the breathtaking valleys. You can experience the boat ride in the glittering waters of this lake. Walk around the area to soak up the natural beauty at its best.

Visited on April 12, 2024 at 2pm The place was almost vacant when we visited. At the entrance there are some goose but had a foul smell there. The entrance area is well maintained but couldn't find that on other sides. The lake water is not clean and muddy. One can walk around the lake which will take around 10minutes. From the entrance, there are some guinea pigs which are put in cages. Then there is a display of stones collected from various locations. Just opposite to the entrance, there is a wooden bridge which will takes to a children's play area. The slider, swing are all rusted and not maintained. Boating can be done but recommend to avoid of it is sunny. Heard that the water in lake is 20feet height. Can visit the park if not sunny or else ignore this area.

As you arrive, the first thing that strikes you is the calmness of the area, far from the typical tourist rush. The cool breeze and the serene waters reflect the surrounding hills, creating a picturesque setting that makes it feel like you’ve stepped into a painting. A leisurely walk along the well-maintained pathways around the lake offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenic beauty and breathe in the crisp, fresh air. For those who enjoy boating, a peaceful paddle on the lake’s placid waters is an unforgettable experience. The gentle sway of the boat, coupled with the birds singing in the background, adds to the tranquillity. You can also sit by the lake, with your feet dipping into the cool water, and enjoy the quiet
