Here is the things...on the initial days when it was opened...not a lot of people knew about this place and it was peaceful and quiet...the woods blur the boundaries and it turns very interesting but these days it's just people who are trying to make out and who know probably more...and the place used to have well functioned cycles before now they are just laying like a pile of junk...why have these many cycles when you can't maintain them...you had one job! Also...the park had few sets for children but now even they don't function properly...the swingset is dangerously wobbly...the iron merrigoround was too small even for the kids..again..so undermaintained that it is rotten with rust..the see saw is the only functional thing there but even that is for kids and not adults..hey..sometimes we want to swing by to play too! And when asked for what time would be the best for bird watching the guys working there haven't the faintest clue about it...and sometimes they close before time.. probably that's because they are frustated to see these many people making out...I wouldn't completely blame them for closing soon...but boy this place has become a bore even for the deers that live there. By the way..the three stars are for the trees and creatures there not for the service they provide...if I would rate the maintenance seperately I would...
Read moreThere are two parts of this place.. a central park area and extended forest like area. If you go with family and kids stick to the park area. it's a very calm and pleasent place to reset your mind. Peacocks can be found during less rush times like weekdays... More the public less chances of finding them. Deers can be sighted but please don't feed them plastic packed garbage like chips n other junk we already spoiled our bodies with in the city. Hope they put warning signs for this. Not enough rest rooms and there needs to be a ladies waiting room for feeding babies. Many people are commenting it as lovers park with gupchup activities and so on...as if they never did any such stuff in thier lives anywhere at all and kids magically appeared for them. We as a country belong to all shades of cultures from Taliban kind to Extreme liberal kind.. let's face it, there will be couples looking for places like this to makeout. From short stay to many hours you can happily spend time here and if it drizzles the smell is really awesome.. you get the real soil smell of forests. I blame the public who are littering with empty bottles, food packets and empty sachets of you know what... Plz keep the place clean it's becoming hectic for the already less numbered...
Read moreThe place is good. But can be better maintained. Directions within the Deer Park can be better.
People just litter about everywhere. Provide dustbins and have strict policing of all those littering. Enforce heavy penalties onal those unruly visitors.
People also tend to feed Deer through the cages. Stop that too.
Sense should prevail on the general public on how to keep a public place clean and take collective ownership of public property.
Security is lax, and there are no lavatories. In a large park with many kids and elderly, there should be designated urinal spots.
When I visited a couple of days back. Could find people playing loud music within the lark premises besides the animal enclosures. All that should be heavily policed by authorities.
There should be some provision for drinking water within the park. Rather than selling mineral water bottles, the authorities should restrict a family to just carry their own water bottle and provide water stations where those can be refilled (albeit at a cost, like the railways at ₹5.00, for example).
The park has a wonderful ambience and is a good lung space. Govt should budget more to create many more parks...
