The drive on the NH is a pleasant experience... Forests.... Good road...
Got surprised after reaching Kuntala water falls
Parking area might not be sufficient during heavy tourist season
At the entrance there are dhaba type food outlets which cook fresh chicken and other items for lunch and snacks... They have swings made out of cots ....
Monkeys are everywhere... They will snatch packets looking for food... Make sure you don't carry food in carry bags... Hide food packets in bigger hand bags... Also it would be easier to carry upto the water fall... Also don't use disposable plastic and throw in the mountains...
At first we saw the mountain valley with a small stream which has almost dried up post monsoon... I was disappointed that we have driven so long for this stream
After going ahead we saw the water fall valley.. looking awesome.. but not sure someone can actually climb down the mountain foot to reach out to the water fall
We saw people walking down the concrete steps downwards... As expected due to steep mountain downward the steps are quite tricky and quite difficult for elderly and people with breathing and knees problems
By the time you reach the mountain foot you are actually bit exhausted
But the sight of the water fall valley makes you forget the tiredness
But the way from the steps to the water fall it's rocky and no walk way has been constructed... Quite difficult for elderly... Physically challenged and knees problems
Shockingly there is a old man who is advising tourists to be carefully but there is no security guards nearby the water fall in case of injuries or casualties
On December 26 the water fall was thin but good enough for enjoying water fall There are patches of water pool all around But the rocks are very very slippery and can be dangerous fall
Most young guys are climbing up the hill top above the water fall and enjoying the scenic view and water fall... Very good location for photography
Almost everyone enjoyed sitting under the water fall and taking photographs...
NOTE be careful with your valuables.. wallet... Mobile... One of your team member has to keep guards while others are enjoying the water fall
At the far end there is another very sharp water fall with steep fall... Very dangerous for trekking... Very good location for photography
But during monsoon the water falls will be very heavy and the water lake will be full Due to the dangerous water fall and lake I think tourist will not be allowed to go down from the mountain top / Entrance to the mountain
Most important is to plan your food... Empty stomach will make you weak and you will need lots of energy.. but full stomach will make your mountain decent difficult and at the water fall
Take clothing .. towel... clothes for changing after swimming .. for water fall.. water bottle... Light snacks... AT WATER FALL there is no public utilities... NO CHANGING ROOM... No toilets...
It's a very memorable experience... the forest adds to the experience...
But if possible check out during monsoon if the water fall is prohibited for tourists Also during summer there might be no water fall... I am NOT sure... or it could be very...

Kuntala waterfalls are mesmerising but dangerous too.So would advise the travellers not to climb on to the hills to get access to the water falls.ONE SLIP AND YOU CAN LOOSE BALANCE AND GO STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FALLS WHICH ARE AT A HEIGHT OF Approx 100 ft. ITS SUICIDAL! There had been many deaths out here in Kuntala which are published on flex boards near the entry point to discourage visitors from getting into the waters.
Kuntala waterfalls are approx 280-300 kms from Hyderabad between Nirmal town and Adilabad district.
A BIKE RIDE IS ADVENTUROUS AND ROMANTIC TOO, as the roads are smooth like butter with no potholes, except for the last stretch of road which is presently being widened and repaired by the authrities. TOTAL BIKE RIDE WOULD BE 600 kms SO FOLKS BE READY TO BE TIRED AND......
Telangana Tourism has to do a lot to bring up this place as there are no facilities for the visitors.
FEW SUGGESTIONS AS UNDER:
(1) Public transport like Govt buses can be made to ply on this road/this place.
(2) Good and decent eateries can be opened which can woo the visitors to increase their visits to this place. At present only small eating shacks are available which are expensive too,but you have no choice but to have a bite at these shacks as there is no other alternative.
These shacks sell the packed items for a price MORE THAN the MRP including packed drinking water. GOVT NEEDS TO KEEP A CHECK AND CURB THESE ACTIVITIES.
(3) There are around 300 steps to reach the waterfalls and there is no drinking water available.CAN BE THOUGHT OF MAKING DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE FOR THE VISITORS BY PROVIDING DRINKING WATER TAPS. ( We carried ONE BOTTLE of drinking water and it was over before reaching the falls and we were totally dehydrated by the time we reached back to the parking lot. l finished 1/2 ltr if water in one go as l was very thirsty and dehydrated)
TO RAP IT UP , ITS STILL WORTH THE VISIT DESPITE THERE BEING NO FACILITIES FOR THE TOURISTS.
HAVE A NICE...
