A Divine Experience on a Sacred Hilltop
This temple is truly a hidden gem nestled atop a serene hill, offering a spiritually uplifting experience for every devotee who makes the effort to visit. The drive uphill is quite steep, so do take caution. Once you reach the top, you're greeted with a spacious parking area, and from there, the spiritual journey begins.
🪨 The Path to Darshan: You’ll notice a massive boulder with steps beautifully carved into it — nature and devotion intertwined. The climb is moderately challenging, especially for the elderly. There are no wheelchair facilities, so senior citizens may need support. Paid auto services are available up to the parking zone, but no heavy vehicles or minibuses are allowed — only cars and bikes.
As you ascend the first stretch, there is a staging area to rest briefly. The next climb leads you to a cave-like entrance, where the atmosphere becomes deeply divine and tranquil. Inside, you receive the sacred darshan of Swambhu Lord Shri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy — a powerful and peaceful presence. The temple priest warmly narrates the kshetra mahima (the spiritual significance of the temple) and its ancient story, making the experience even more meaningful.
🕉️ Spiritual Serenity: After the main darshan, a short climb leads you to another sacred spot where Lord Shri Maheshwara resides. The divine energy here is palpable — it's a place where silence speaks, and the soul feels connected.
⚠️ Climb Down With Care: The descent is steep and must be approached with utmost caution. Take your time — every step is a prayer, and safety is paramount.
🕗 Temple Timings: Open every day from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
🙏 Final Thoughts: This is not just a temple visit — it’s a spiritual yatra. The natural rock formations, the peaceful atmosphere, and the divine darshan make it a memorable and soul-touching experience. Ideal for those seeking inner peace and connection with the divine, away from the chaos...
Read moreFantastic place. It was a pleasant surprise for a first time visitor. Such nature's beauty, so well preserved and the beaty is enhanced by the cool atmosphere on a cloudy day is truly paradise for a nature's lover. So much so for the place. But the real gem is the holiest of holy mountain is the sacred abode of swayambhu Sree Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy, in deep cut cave on the top only reachable by roughly hewen steps on huge boulders and through narrow natural gullies. It's a great thrill to visit such well preserved worship places for the past 700 years by the ardent devotees of Lord from generation to generation.
Even regular worships apart special days are celebrated with much geity. Everyday Annadanam (free lunch) is provided to all visitors irrespective of cast, creed and religion. It's a great Hindu tradition. What beats me is that why this has not become popular among citizens of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad who love outing. Now it's on a good road connecting Mahabubnagar to Makthal. About 120 kms from Hyderabad, the beautiful serpentine road excellently laid starts from the superbly promulgated Arch proclaiming the holy abode of the Lord to the top of the hill is great thrill for the lovers of driving throws a sort of challenge with its hairpin bends and steep raising gradients. There's good parking available on top with is a sheet rock and surrounded by huge boulders mounted on top of each other, as if several gaints who left hurriedly in the middle of a sort of game. There's a natural spring on top with plenty of water all through the year. About a 1000 steps have to be climbed to reach the top of sanctum sanctoram where a kshetrapalak Shiva's temple is situated. On a good day one can see upto 20 kms of beauty surrounded by several rocky hills and green pastures. All in all a delightful place to visit. Don't miss if you get an...
Read moreThis beautiful temple is located in Devarakadra, Mahabubnagar District and is around 20 Kms from Palampur Bus Depot. It is 130 Kms away from Kurnool and from Hyderabad from both the sides. The famous Beechupally Anjaneya Temple is at a distance of 82 Kms from here, while another noteworthy temple of Mahabubnagar viz., Kurumurthuy Venkateswara Temple is about 35 kms. Just at the entrance you will find an artificial pond with a gigantic statue of Hanumanji. The temple is built on a hill top and there are steps admeasuring about 600+ to climb. However, there is a well maintained ghat road which takes you almost to the temple entrance. But, beware of sharp curves at very small distances and be very cautious. There is ample space for car parking. From that place you will have to climb some 60-70 steps to reach the calm and serene 4emple of Sri Venkateswara, inside a cave. Peace and feeling of eternal fulfilment fill the whole sanctum sanctorum and the darshan of Sri Venkateswara is sure to fill your heart to the fullest. As in Kurumurthy Venkateswara temple here also you will find the Lord wearing a moustache. On one side of the idol, you have Lord with Padmavati and other other side with Sridevi and Bhudevi. After you come out of the sanctum sanctorum and take path down hill, after a few steps you will find a side way with a few steps to climb and the way takes you to the shrine of Dhakshinayana Lingeshwar, inside a cave with Nandeeswarar majestically placed before the Shivling. At the foot of the hill, you have the temple of Alamelu Mangamma, as it exists in Tirupati. The whole trip offers you spiritual release and fulfilment and make a note mentally not to miss it. Om Namo...
