Sri lnavolu Mallanna Devasthanam — Attraction in Telangana

The famous Iloni Mallanna Jatara has begun on a grand note here on Saturday. The religious event of historic Inavolu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple begins on Bhogi, the preceding day of Sankranti festival, and continues till Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. Lakhs of pilgrims from across the district and neighbouring districts take part in the event and fulfill their vows. Torana Bandhanam, Vigneshwara Pooja, Punyahavachanam, Prajarohana, Mahanyasapurvaka Rudrabhishekam and others will be held to mark the commencement of the jatara. On Makara Sankranti Day on Sunday Mahanyasapurvaka Ekadasi Rudrabhishekam, Mahanivedana, Mantrapushpam and others will be held at the temple,Inavolu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple situated at Inavolu village of Vardhannapet mandal in the district is one of the ancient Lord Shiva temples in south India. The temple dates back to 11th century and was built by Kakatiya rulers. It was built with 108 pillars and has a giant magnificent Nruthaya Mandapam on eastern side. The presiding deity Shivalingam of the temple referred to as ‘Ardhapranavattam’ (Shivalinga with half doom). The temple has four entrance gates with rich architectural carvings that epitomising the cultural sophistication of Kakatiya dynasty. ఐలేని కథ

వరంగల్లుకు సమీపంలోని మరొక చారిత్రక పట్టణం ఐనవోలు. క్రీ.శ. 5,6శతాబ్దాలలో పాలకులైన బాదామీ చాళుక్యులకాలంలోనే ప్రసిద్ధులైన అయ్యవోలు-500(అయ్యవోలే అయినూరవరు) అనే వ్యాపారశ్రేణి లేదా వర్తకుల సంఘం దేశ, విదేశాలలో వ్యాపారం చేస్తుండేది. బాదామీ, పట్టడకల్ నగరాల పక్కన వారి పేరుమీదనే ఉన్న ఐహోలు నగరం నిర్మించబడ్డది. అద్భుతశిల్పసంపదతో దేవాలయాలకు ప్రసిద్ధం. ఆ అయ్యవోలు-500 వ్యాపారశ్రేణి నిర్మించిన నగరమే హన్మకొండ జిల్లాలోని మన అయ్యనవోలు, ఐనవోలు, ఐలేని.

ఇక్కడ లభించిన రెండు శాసనాలలో కళ్యాణీచాళుక్యరాజు త్రిభువనమల్ల 6వ విక్రమాదిత్యుని కాలం క్రీ.శ.1118 ఏప్రిల్ 22నాటిదొకటి, ఈ శాసనంలో పేరు తెలియని ప్రధాన కరితుర(గ)(సా)హణి దండనా(యకు)డు లకులేశ్వరపండితునికి ధారాపూర్వకంగా చేసిన దానప్రస్తావన ఉంది. ఈ పండితుడు కాలాముఖ గురువైవుంటాడు. శ్రీశైలం శిలామఠంలోని కాలాముఖగురువు రామేశ్వరపండితుడే కాకతీయులకు శివదీక్షలిచ్చారని క్రీ.శ.1090 నాటి హన్మకొండ దుర్గరాజు శాసనంవల్ల(వరంగల్ శాసన సంపుటి, శా.సం.15) తెలుస్తున్నది. ఈ శాసనం ఐలేనిని ‘అయనబోలి’ అని పేర్కొంటున్నది.

రెండవది పశుపతిపండితుని కొడుకు నాగనాథ రచించిన సంస్కృత నక్షత్రమాల శాసనం రాచకొండ వెలమరాజు అనవోతానాయకునికాలం క్రీ.శ.1369, జూలై 19వ నాటిది. ఈ శాసనంలో శత్రుసంహారకుడై, సమరవిజేతగా ఓరుగల్లు, త్రిభువనగిరి, రాజుకొండ, సింగవరం, ఇతర తెలుగుదేశాలను పాలించే అనవోతానాయకుడు ఐలేని మల్లారి(మైలారదేవ), మాడచీ(శైలసుత) దర్శించి మల్లన్నకు అంగ,రంగభోగనిమిత్తం భూదానాలు చేసాడు. ఈ శాసనంలో ఐలేని అయ్యనవోలుగానే పేర్కొనబడ్డది.

ఐలేని మల్లన్న లేదా మల్లారి కళ్యాణీచాళుక్యుల కాలం నుంచి ఆరాధింపబడుతున్న దేవుడు. శివస్వరూపుడు. మెదక్ జిల్లా టేక్మల్ మండలంలోని వేల్పుగొండలో నిర్మించిన దేవాలయం మల్లన్నదే. శాసనాధారం ఉన్నది. కాకతీయులకాలంలో ప్రస్తుత సూర్యాపేట జిల్లా నడిగూడెంలో లభించిన శాసనం మైలారదేవుని ప్రతిమాలక్షణాన్ని వివరిస్తున్నది. కాకతీయుల కాలం కంటే ముందునుంచే వీరభద్రునికి ప్రతిరూపంవంటి మైలారుదేవుడు, మల్లన్నదేవుని విగ్రహాలు ప్రతిష్టించడం మొదలైంది.

హన్మకొండ జిల్లా ఐనవోలులోని మల్లన్నగుడిలో మల్లన్న ముందర ఉన్న శివలింగం అర్థపానవట్టం మీద ఉన్నదనే ప్రచారముంది. కాని, నిజానికి అది, అర్థపానవట్టం కాదు. ఏక దేవతాశిల్పంయొక్క అధిష్టానపీఠం. దాని మీదున్న రాతితొలిలో బాణలింగాన్ని ప్రతిష్టించారు. ఏ పానవట్టం కూడా సగముండదు. అది శిల్పశాస్త్రం ప్రకారం కాని, శైవాగమాల ప్రకారం కాని అంగీకారయోగ్యం కాదు. ఐలోని మల్లన్నగుడి కన్నా ముందు ఇక్కడ ఇతర మతదేవాలయముండేదని, దానిని తొలగించి మల్లన్నగుడిగా చేయడం, శివలింగ ప్రతిష్ట చేయడం జరిగిందనడానికి ఈ అర్థపానవట్టమే సాక్షి.

ఐనవోలు ఊరగుట్టమీద పాత దేవాలయాల ప్రాంగణం వుంది. ఆ రాష్ట్రకూటులనాటి నిర్మాణాలు జైనబసదులనిపిస్తాయి. ఆ గుట్ట మీద నుంచే దేవుడు దిగివచ్చాడని జనం నానుడి. అందువల్ల ఆ అధిష్టానపీఠం మీది దేవుడెవరో తెలిసిపోతుంది.

ఐలేని(అయ్యనవోలు), పున్నేలు(పున్నవోలు) జంటనగరాలు. పున్నేలులో రాష్ట్రకూటుల పిదప 30యేండ్లకు రాజ్యానికొచ్చిన చాళుక్య ఇరివెబెడంగ శాసనం ఉన్నది. అంటే ఆ శాసనం వేసేనాటికే ఈ నగరం ఉన్నదన్నమాట. ఐనవోలు మల్లన్నగుడి పక్కన ఉన్న హనుమాండ్లగుడి స్తంభాలు రాష్ట్రకూటులశైలివే.  అయ్యనవోలుకూడా రాష్ట్రకూటులకాలం నుంచి ఉన్నదే. రాష్ట్రకూట చక్రవర్తి అమోఘవర్షునికాలంలో అర్మకుండె (హన్మకొండ) భీమచాళుక్యుని పేరన శాసనముంది. కొండపర్తి, జాఫర్ఘడ్ లో రాష్ట్రకూటశాసనాలలో అర్మకుండ (హన్మకొండ)ప్రస్తావనలున్నాయి.

ఐలేని మల్లన్నగుడికి బయటప్రాకారం కోటగోడలెక్క నిర్మాణమైంది. గోడకు పక్కన ప్రదక్షిణాపథం సొరంగంవలె ఉంది. అష్టభుజాకృతిలో 108 స్తంభాలతో నిర్మింపబడ్డ ఈ ఆలయం చాళుక్య నిర్మాణ శైలిలో ఉంది. గర్భగుడిలో మల్లన్న, మల్లారి, ఖండేలారాయుడు అని పిలువబడే మైలారుదేవుడు గొల్ల కేతమ్మ, బలిజమేడలమ్మలతో కొలువై కనిపిస్తాడు. మల్లన్న ముందర ఒక పక్కకు ఏకదేవత అధిష్టానపీఠం మీద అమర్చిన బాణలింగం ఉన్నది. ఆ పీఠాన్నే అర్ధపానవట్టమని, దేశంలో మరెక్కడా లేదని ప్రచారమున్నది. అది నిజంకాదు. అంతకుముందు ఆ పీఠంమీద మరొక శిల్పం నిలిపివుండేది.

దేవాలయ ప్రాంగణంలో విరిగిపడిన కళ్యాణీచాళుక్యశాసనం, గద్దెమీద నిలిపిన రాచకొండవారి శాసనం ఉన్నాయి. దేవాలయ ప్రాంగణంలో కనిపించే శిల్పాలలో 3 జతలపాదాలు, కొత్తనంది, 4నాగశిలలు,  హారాలు, , జూకాలు, వీరకాసె, బొడ్లో కైజారులతో, విరబోసుకున్న జటలతో ఒక వీరుడు, కత్తి,డాలు పట్టుకుని డాకాలుమోపి, యుద్ధానికి సాగుతున్నట్టున్న చాళుక్యశైలి వీరగల్లు, భైరవుని శిల్పం, ఒకచోట అర్ధపర్యంకాసనంలో కూర్చునివున్న వీరభద్రుని శిల్పం,  నందిమండపంలో కాకతీయశైలి నంది ఉన్నాయి. ప్రత్యేకంగా కనిపించే ఇంకొక వీరగల్లును రుద్రమదేవి శిల్పమంటున్నారు. ఈ శిల్పంలో అశ్వారోహకుడైన వీరునికి ముందు, వెనక ఇద్దరు ఛత్రధారులున్నారు. గుర్రం వెనక, ముందు ఒక్కొక్క వ్యక్తి నిలబడివున్నారు. గుర్రం కాళ్ళనడుమ హతుడైన...
