Amidst the sweltering heat, and far from the maddening crowd of the city, visited the Swarnashilpa Vivekananda Mandir located at Narkhuda village in Shamsabad. The temple stands as a replica of Kolkata Dakshineswar temple and has been built by the "swarnakars",ie the goldsmith co kimmunity of Hyderabad.A place of solace and peace, indeed a blissful spot to spend your entire day admiring the beauty of nature. An apt place for meditation and worship. The distance is quite far from the main city, far away from Shamsabad airport, hence visited the temple during late afternoon.Missed the illumination of the evening and the twilight view.Nevertheless enjoyed ourselves, had the most precious and mesmerizing "darshan" of Ma Bhavatarini, gave our offerings and puja to Ma Kali, also gave "pushpanjali".Captured the wonderful glimpses of the serenity of the surroundings. Moreover the temple is not a commercial one like most, not much crowded too as it was a weekday, not a festive day too.Temple premises neat and clean too. Overall a pleasant and devine experience, felt relieved, stress free, came back energized, after seeking blessings from Ma Bhavatarini.A must visit spot to cherish the exquisite craftsmanship and spiritual ambience and to achieve a devine experience that has a long lasting impression. An awesome spot to click pictures and take selfies. More improvements, developments needed to be done to attract more visitors, tourists and it's my earnest request to all the Bengali community of Hyderabad in this aspect,if all of us can stand together for the development of this temple to make it a popular religious spot,I think it will be a great idea and if some amount of money can be donated or contributed by each one of us who visit the temple campus, donations can be of any amount,as per the capability and capacity of Transportation facilities should be adhered too on priority basis and thereafter...
Read moreUnsafe Experience at Swarna Shilpi Vivekananda Kali Mandir (Oct 1, 2025)
I had a very disappointing and unsafe experience at Swarna Shilpi Vivekananda Kali Mandir, Narkhuda (Kalibari, Shamshabad) during Durga Puja on Navami, October 1, 2025, between 4:30–5:00 PM.
While holding my toddler, I saw a young child going dangerously close to the pond near the main gate. Concerned, I immediately alerted the committee member sitting at the entrance (the person collecting donations). His exact response shocked me:
“Why should I care? That’s the parents’ problem. I’m not here to do those kinds of jobs. If the kid has gone, it’s his risk and the parents’ risk. I’m no one to take care of that — that’s not my job. Keep it away.”
When I further questioned how he could say such a thing while being a committee member, his language turned abusive instead of showing even the slightest sense of responsibility.
This is not only inhuman and irresponsible, but also shows that the temple has no safety measures in place. With the pond right at the entrance, full of ducks that naturally attract kids, and with huge festive crowds, the risk of an accident is extremely high.
There was no security, no preventive arrangements, and no willingness to even help when alerted.
⚠️ Based on my experience, I can say this temple is highly unsafe at this point of time, especially for families with children.
👉 If anyone from the temple management is reading this: • You can easily identify who this person was (since the incident was on Navami, Oct 1, 2025, between 4:30–5 PM, at the main gate donation counter). • Please take strong action against him. • Most importantly, please improve security and safety arrangements immediately so no child or parent has to face such a terrifying situation.
Until then, I cannot recommend anyone to visit this...
Read moreWe decided to visit the temple and drove through the Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Gachibowli and exited to Shamshabad. The toll charge was Rs. 40/-. The drive through congested Shamshabad area lasted for about 15 minutes. We then turned right in the village Road - narrow but metalled. After driving about 3 KMs we turned left in a kutcha bumpy road. Driving about a kilometer we reached the temple and parked the car outside the temple. Walked 10/12 metres to enter the temple compound and the entire temple complex was in view. The main temple is built similar to Dakshineswar Kali temple of West Bengal. Climbed a few stairs and the idol of Goddess Kali was seen inside. The priest was conducting puja. On the right and left side of the main temple, there are a pair of smaller temples. On the right side the idols of Ganapati and Radha-Krishna were seen. On the left side the idols of Lord Shiva and Balaji are housed. The temple compound is quite big surrounded by wall but is largely empty as the opening was done only about 10 months. By dusk there were about 60/70 devotees assembled at the temple to watch the evening Aarti in a serene atmosphere. The temple was lighted up in the evening and the colour changed to red giving it a beautiful dreamy look. Our trip ended and we returned satisfied. The distance from Gachibowli to temple through ORR is about 33 KMs. and the drive took about 45 minutes. To visit the temple you should have your own transport. Avoid trip during monsoon/rain. Because a car can not be driven the last one KM because...
