Anna Science Center Planetarium Office — Attraction in Tiruchirappalli

Maintenance is too bad. The theatre and shows needs upgrade.

Planetarium Show:

High valued projector is used in planetarium. The show about planets in solar system is good. The sky affect is awesome.

The Story narration should consider viewer experience. Any story narration will be driven by audio and video together. But here it is driven by audio with slide shows on various planets. Audio and video can sync provide good experience. It is missing now.

The animation part needs an upgrade. Can't NIT members helps on this?

3D Theatre:

The 3D show starts with roller coaster ride followed by Horror Story. Somehow it is not on par with the show provided in private theatres (within shopping mall) . This theatre surely needs to be upgraded.

Parks in Planetarium:

1. Half of "Evolution park" is submerged in water. Not sure fishing activity is allowed :)

2. Environment Gallery ground floor is in water. So they switched off the power. Though it has good information, we couldn't enjoy much.

3. Herbal park maintenance is very poor. We don't see much herbal plants over there.

4. Science Park maintenance is poor.

Government after spending several crores/lakhs of rupees in this initiative not sure why it is failed in maintenance.

The prevailing poor maintenance brings up question on did planetarium officials are really sincere at their work? Do they really care about their working environment and quality of work?

It is a great disappointment on that day.

👉Ticket : It Is Worthwhile To View 2d And 3d Programs. Entry Adult 45 Rs. Children 25 Rs.

👉Experience: 2d Presentation Explains The Galaxy, Black Hole, And Earth. At First Glance, It Appears To Be Entirely Aimed At Children, But If Adults Are Interested In Cosmology It's Give Vibe.

👉Ambiance : I Am 5.6 Feet Tall; The Best Comfortable Seat Has Legroom And Air Conditioning. It's Entertaining To Watch.

👉3d: 10 Minute Show It Is Not Advised For Me To Watch This Show Because It Also Targets Children.

👉Environment Gallery: Totally Maintenance-free, Without Power.

👉Kid's Play Area: Severely Damaged With No Protection. Don't Go Here.

👉Rest Room: No Water Supply And A Filthy Restroom.

👉Jurassic Park :Nothing Has Changed In Jurassic Park; It Remains My Childhood Day's . But Take Images During Quiet, Imaginative Photo Shoots.

👉Canteen : Nearby No Shops,Limited Snacks Available.

Overall Spend 2 To 3Hour's Worth.

The Anna Science Centre, Tiruchirapalli was established by the Government of Tamil nadu and was inaugurated on 10 June 1999.

The planetarium is located on the National highway 210 between Trichy and Pudukottai adjacent to the Tiruchirapalli Airport.

The planetarium has an "Environment Gallery" which exhibits themes related to Eco systems, Bio-geochemical cycles, Bio-diversity and Conservation. The Science Centre has many three dimensional films like "Shark Island", Magic Shows, Roller Coaster etc. The planetarium also has "Vigyan Prasar", an Edusat Facility and "Try Science – Around the World", a system that has details about the science centres in more than 50 countries.

An Evolution Park has been added recently portraying Flora and Fauna of the three major periods of Evolution namely the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

The planetarium has shows in both Tamil  and English. Tamil shows will be at 10.30 am, 1.00 pm and 3.30 pm. In English shows will be at 11.45 am, 2.15 pm...
