Kaal Laat Bhairav Temple, also known as Kapaal Bhairav Temple, is one of the Ashta Bhairav temples of Kashi and holds immense spiritual and historical significance. Unlike other temples, the vigrah of Shri Kapaal Bhairav is placed out in the open under a tent, making this temple unique in its appearance and energy. Lord Kapaal Bhairav is considered the Chief Justice of Kashi, and it is believed that all karmic accounts are settled under his divine judgment.

The temple is located next to a railway crossing and is accessible through narrow roads. Due to its location in a disputed site, the temple is surrounded by mosques and unauthorized constructions, creating an unusual setting for such an important shrine. Despite these challenges, the temple continues to stand as a testament to Kashi’s ancient spiritual traditions. Unfortunately, very few pilgrims visit this powerful temple, but those who do can feel the intense presence of Lord Bhairav.

Opposite the temple is a sacred pond where, according to legends, the fifth head of Lord Brahma fell after being severed by Lord Bhairav on the command of Lord Shiva. This makes the temple an essential stop for those seeking to understand Kashi’s deep spiritual history.

Devotees visiting this temple are encouraged to support the temple trust, as they are engaged in a legal battle to reclaim the temple land from squatters. Donations can help in preserving and restoring this sacred place. For those seeking the true essence of Kashi, a visit to Kaal Laat Bhairav Temple is highly...

Laat Bhairav is not so difficult to find, it's near the railway crossing. The temple premises is surrounded by Masjid where people offer namaz so maintaining silence is good! Laat bhairav ji is surrounded by Astha Bhairav, bhairav ji was 52 feet tall but history has its mark on it and now it may be 7 feet above the ground rest is below and the above part is broken but history

Opposite the temple there is a Kund, it's called as Kapal Mochan Kund where the head of Brahmaji fell from Bhairava- the first ever...
