Visited this Holy place on 6th March 2023. It is also called┬аChoti Kashi. The story of Gokaran Nath is same as Vaidyanath. It is the belief of the people that Lord Shiva was pleased with the penance (Tapasya) of┬аRavana┬а(King of┬аLanka) and offered him a boon. Rawana requested the Lord Shiva to go to Lanka with him and leave there forever. The Lord Shiva agreed to go on condition that he should not be placed anywhere on the way to Lanka. If he were placed anywhere, he would settle at that place. Shiv gave him one of the twelve┬аJyotirlingams. Rawana agreed and started his journey to Lanka with the Lord on his head. When Rawana reached the Gola Gokaran Nath (then called Gollihara) he felt the need to urinate (a call of nature). Rawana offered some gold coins to a shepherd (who was none other than Lord┬аGanesha┬аsent by deities) for placing the Lord Shiva on his head until he returned. The shepherd (Lord Ganesha) placed him on the land. Rawana failed to lift him up despite all his efforts. He pressed him on his head with his thumb in full anger. The impression of Rawana's thumb is still present on the Shivling. Because of that the Shivling became like a Cow's Ear (рдЧреЛрдХрд░реНрдг)and mounted around 5 feet below from the ground level. The importance of Gokarnnath dham increases during the month of Shrawan. Must visit this place once in life. Har Har...

Hi friends, This places is related to lord Shiva and located in Lakhimpur khiri district. People and devotees comes here throughout the year from many places of the nation. But in the month sawan ( during july-august), there are alarge number of people come here to worship Lord shiva. Mostly people came here by walking with 'kanwar' in which devotees use holy Ganga water from many holy Ganges ghats like farrukhabad, Haridwar, Gomukh etc. There is a big statue of Lord Shiva also installed outside the temple which is also a tourist attraction. This place is worth visiting. People can come here any time in whole year, but it would be better to visit except Monday in july-august because of heavy rush in this temple and it can be take time more than 6 hours in queue. This place has no railway station but it's well connected from Lakhimpur district and Shahajahanpur district via bus facility. Shahjahanpur is better for them who came here from Lucknow or Delhi side, it's 60 km away from SHAHJAHANPUR. Har Har...

Har Har Mahadev ЁЯЩПЁЯЩП

Its highly revered lord Shiva temple in Gola Gokarna Nath with a below ground shivlinga having a thumb impression on top of the shivlinga. Mythology says that Ravana was carrying this to lanka and was not supposed to put it on the ground before reaching lanka. But somehow he had to put it on the ground at Gola and after it became immovable. So he pressed the shivalinga with his thumb which created the depression mark over the shivalinga here which is still visible. The place is being renovated and proper corridor is being constructed here nowadays to facilitate entry of tourists in this temple.

Holy place to get relaxed and has a vibe par excellence. Place is beautified with a large and natured teerth with an attractive Shiva statue in middle of it. Shringar pooja and Shiva Arti take place on daily basis both the times and all the needy things in pooja would be purchased from the market named as teerth market. Organizations like Gola tourism used to conduct various events to enhance attractiveness of temple among people.
