This temple we have visited very surprisingly during our visit to Prayagraj. we have reached to Prayagraj in the evening at 05:00 pm got fresh up and then started towards Late Hanuman temple Darshan. But due to Mahakumbh celebration preparation there was huge traffic jam. So we have decided to go by walk and that's how on the way we found this temple. Later by knowing the history of this temple we felt so blessed. Just 6 km from Prayagraj Railway station near Saraswathi Ghat, this ancient is located on the Banks of the river Yamuna. the temple's peaceful atmosphere allows for worship while enjoying stunning views of the river Yamuna. One can also see the idols of Nandi, Lord Ganesh, Lord hanuman, a Banyan and Peepal tree in this temple complex. There is also Rann Mukteshwar Shivalinga. This temple's architecture is a fine bled of Hindu and Mughal styles. This temple is maintained by Sri Shankaracharya Trust.

Interesting facts about This temple: According to Shiva Purana, Skanda Purana and Padma Purana, Mankameshwar is the place where Lord Shive is reduced Kamadeva to ashes. Goddess Sita desired to pray to lord Shiva following her ritual bathing at Sangam. Since there was no Lord Shiva temple in the vicinity, Lord Rama built this temple to fulfill Maa Sita Wish. Lord Rama along with Sita Maa and Lakshmana performed Jala Abhishek to this Shiva Linga and sought his blessings. This temple houses a three and half feet black stone Shivalinga and is said to have been installed by Lord Rama himself. The name Mankameshwar is derived from two words "Man & Kameshwar". Man meaning mind or heart and Kameshwar referring to lord Shiva as the fulfiller of desires. So it is believed that if one comes with deep reverence and desire to seek this god blessing's, then he fulfill their heartfelt aspirations and whishes.
