Camel's Back, also known as Deopatta, is a captivating natural formation located in Nainital, Uttarakhand, at an elevation of 2,422 meters above sea level. True to its name, this spot features a rock formation that closely resembles the hump of a camel, offering visitors a unique and picturesque sight.

The area is renowned for its panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges and the expansive Tarai region. One of the most enchanting experiences at Camel's Back is witnessing the sunset; as the sun descends, the sky is painted with hues of orange and pink, casting a mesmerizing glow over the mountains. This makes it a favored spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

For those inclined towards outdoor activities, Camel's Back offers excellent opportunities for horse riding and nature walks. The trails are well-marked and cater to both seasoned trekkers and casual walkers. The serene ambiance, accompanied by the whispering pines and cool mountain breeze, provides a rejuvenating experience away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

It's advisable to carry your own refreshments, as there are no eateries in the immediate vicinity. Packing a picnic basket can enhance the experience, allowing visitors to enjoy a meal amidst nature's splendor.

Reaching Camel's Back is relatively straightforward. Located just a short distance from Nainital's bustling Mall Road, visitors can opt for a leisurely walk, hire a rickshaw, or drive to the spot. For the more adventurous, hiking up to Camel's Back adds an element of thrill to the visit, with the journey offering its own set of scenic vistas.

The best times to visit are between March and June, and from September to December, when the weather is pleasant and conducive for outdoor activities. However, given Nainital's unpredictable weather, it's prudent to carry an umbrella or raincoat to be prepared for sudden showers.

In conclusion, Camel's Back in Nainital is a must-visit destination for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and a touch of adventure. Camel's Back Viewpoint offers a serene escape into nature's tranquility, making it a perfect spot for those who wish to unwind amidst the majestic Kumaon Hills. The name derives from the rock formation resembling a camel's back, which adds a unique charm to the site.

The panoramic views of the lush valleys and surrounding mountains are breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset. The calm atmosphere, coupled with cool mountain breezes, creates a refreshing experience for visitors. The trek to the viewpoint is moderately easy and rewarding, allowing one to connect deeply with nature.

However, there are limited amenities around, so carrying water and snacks is advisable. It’s also recommended to visit during weekdays to avoid crowds and fully enjoy the peaceful environment.

The trek is moderate in terms of difficulty. View is breath taking and mesmerizing. There are no basic amenities available so please go prepared. Average time to reach the end point is 2 hrs. Route is pretty straight forward and most of the route is inclined (again moderately difficult). Prefer proper trekking shoes. You can find leaf monkeys (langur) and Deers on the way, please avoid feeding them and walk on your side of path. Route : We hired local vehicle from the mall road and directly went to Polytechnic college for around 4.5km, then you can start your trekking. Its quite easy way to start from the college. Local people are very friendly to guide you. You will spot Devi Temple in half way. Just few minutes after passing the temple you can take a left for Camel's back (1.25km) or choose straight forward Naina Peak (2.5 km). Please avoid throwing plastic...
