No doubt this place feels like heaven. Worth having experience.

Few tips for travelers:

  1. While trekking avoid wearing jeans or tight pants. Must go for some kind trackpant or lower.
  2. Try to get trekking shoe or atleast boots which are waterproof (else snow will get inside your shoe, which will freeze your foot fingers and make them stiff. Which will be painful while further travelling).
  3. Have a backpack carrying extra pair trackpant (if your existing pants are not waterproof),one extra pair of shocks, Water bottles, some biscuit or snacks.

Reason being: While trekking there could be instances when you slip or fall on the snow (thats obvious if you trying skiing for the first time or even trekking) so extra pants will save you from cold. Water bottles, biscuits snacks are way costly on the top. Imagine paying 40rs for 5rs biscuit pack.

  1. Last but not least, always get a guide. There are a lot of stories when people smartness or dare to do adventure has ended with loosing there life. Enjoy, its a...

We were told that most people walk up and down in about 4 hours flat and that it was a pleasant walk through slightly undulating highlands. Keeping our heart conditions in mind we preferred to take the ponies for some 1200/pony for a total of half an hours stay up there. The path up was very pleasant and through some of the loveliest jungles, we had occasion to be in. On reaching the top there was nothing but there was everything. Complete tranquility, pure air and picture-postcard perfect locales. The army jawans returning form a trek somewhere behind the next hill added to the mystique of the place. Stayed there for around 45 of the loveliest minutes of our life. Don't forget to take everything you could ever want with you, including water bottles, eatables if you want them and anything else you could want because there are no shops or even stalls after you leave the base point...

(We went on Christmas, so snow was till ankle)

Best time to visit, after Christmas to Feb, ( Snow can get as much as till knees) traffic was high so reach as early as possible to avoid queues and rush while returning.

Things to brings, snacks/shops are available still you can bring your own

Trekking, 2 hour long moderate difficulty trekking, bring your own trekking gear, however for snow activities, you will be provided required equipments.

If you do not want to trek to reach at top, use rope way, (up/down included) rate 500/person, (rope way timings are strict and need to follow, you would get 4 hours up there before you need to return) then ride mule (up/down included, 30 min each way) to reach top, rates depends on traffic.

As sun ☀️ goes down and windy weather, cold will increase exponentially, bring warm clothes and do preparations...

Bugyals are alpine pasture lands, or meadows, in higher elevation range between 3,300 metres (10,800 ft) and 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) of the Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, where they are called "nature’s own gardens". The topography of the terrain is either flat or sloped. The surface of these bugyals is covered with natural green grass and seasonal flowers. They are used by tribal herdsmen to graze their cattle. During the winter season the alpine meadows remain snow-covered. During summer months, the Bugyals present a riot of beautiful flowers and grass. As bugyals constitute very fragile ecosystems, particular attention needs to be given for their conservation. Some of the notable bugyals are: Auli near Joshimath, Garsi, Kwanri, Bedni, Panwali and Kush Kalyan, Dayara and Munsiyari....
