Hello Friends and Dears! I would really love to share my journey here. Let me explain the whole story of my latest trip to this place. First i would like to mention that I have visited only a few religious places and it was one of them. Frankly, we didn't go to visit Nanakmatta since we planned to visit PTR but what happened because of the Holi festival there was too much and on account of that we couldn't get the ticket to PTR so we decided to visit some other surrounding places of PTR. As we were moving continuously on the bike so at around 4 o'clock in the evening we reached near nanak saheb dam. I don't have words to elaborate that moment, it was so beautiful and charming ❤️ the water was looking cool as the weather was good, not only we were able to see the Sagar which was too large because of Sharda river, but also we could see ranges of the great Himalayas. I was my first when I went to visit uttrakhand, it was so clean also as compared to UP, people were so polite, kind and good human of course. Because to go back to our place we had to travell a far distance and it was already late so we decided to stay in Nanakmatta for the night. So at around 7:30 i and my friends checked in a hotel, kept our luggage, and got ready to visit this sacred Gurudwara. At around 8 o'clock we left our hotel which was near gurudwara so we reached to gurudwara. It was looking adorable, so peaceful, I felt something different inside me as soon as I came across the gurudwara, it was a great location near Nanak Sagar dam. We entered in the gurudwara and the whole secured place, I felt so peaceful there

We clicked some pictures and after then we went for lungar, there I tasted the best food as I do not like eating outside food and neither fast food so I felt really great after having some tasty bites there as i was starving. Thanks to all the people who are serving people there in the expectation of nothing, you guys are doing a really great job, people like you prove that humanity still exists and no other work is great rather than feeding a hungry person🙏 I got so emotional while having food there. Anyway I had a really great time there and of course it was too a memorable day. After we purchased a couple of ornaments and we came back to our room at around 11 o'clock and for the next day we visited Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and that story I have mentioned on PTR's reviews. So if you are planning to spend one peaceful day, you must visit that place. Thanks for...

Dhan Dhan shri guru nanak dev ji

During third Udassi Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji sat under dead and dried Pipal tree. With divine touch of Guru Sahib Pipal tree came to life again. When Sidh’s saw this, they felt jealous. They used their powers and tried to lift the Pipal tree under which Guru Sahib was sitting on the ground. When the tree had risen by a few feet, Guru Sahib simply placed his hand on it and it stopped rising. The same tree can be seen in the Gurudwara Sahib Premises.

The weather being cold, Bhai Mardana asked the Sidhs for some fire. However, they refused to help him. The yogis, instead, taunted him and told him that he should go and ask his Guru Sahib who was with him. At this, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji looked at a pile of firewood nearby and it instantly ignited. Bhai Mardana was thus able to keep warm and enjoy the fire. Suddenly, the weather changed for the worse and it began to rain. As a result, the fires lit by the yogis were extinguished but the one lit by Guru Sahib was not affected at all.

Then the yogis dig a little place and made a child to sit in there and covered it. They asked the child that whenever they will ask whose land is this, he should reply, “Sidhan di” ( Of the Yogis). The next morning, they all gathered together and called Guru Sahib for a religious discussion. Then in the front of Guru Sahib when they asked twice whose land is this, the child replied “Sidhan di”. But when Guru Sahib asked whose land is this, there was a reply Nanak Mata, Nanak Mata, Nanak Mata, and the yogis then realized their mistake and fell at the feet of Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib explained to the yogis the path of true meditation and salvation.

Later Baba Almast Ji was taking care of this place. But again the Gorakh Matts harassed Baba Almast Ji, had thrown him out and captured this place. They renamed it as Gorakhmat. Sidhs also set fire to Pipal Tree. Baba Almast Ji sent message to Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji at Darolli Bhai. On request of Baba Almast Ji, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came to this place and sprinkled some water on the pipal tree and made it live again. The pipal tree at some parts can be felt as burnt.

Gurudwara Nanakmatta sahib is a historical town named after the Sikh pilgrimage site, Gurdwara Nanak Mata Sahib, in the state of Uttarakhand. The town is associated with Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Hargobind. It is situated on the bank of Deoha stream, which has since been dammed into a reservoir named Nanak Sagar. The Gurudwara is located 15 kilometres west of Khatima Railway Station on road to Tanakpur. The holy shrine is near the town of Sitarganj.[1]It is one of three Sikh Holy places in the state, with others being Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahiband Gurudwara Reetha Sahib.[2]

Gurudwara Sri Nanakmatta Sahib is associated with the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Devwho went there during his third Udasi in 1514, in which he travelled to Mount Kailash.[citation needed] At that time, Gurdwara Sri Nanakmatta Sahib was the abode of the devotees of Guru Gorakhnath and it was called "Gorakhmata".

It is also a Uttarakhand Legislative Assemblyconstituency within the Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar (Lok Sabha constituency).

Karsewa at GurudwaraEdit

Before 1937, the gurudwara was maintained by mahants. A small gurudwara was constructed by the local people. The land for the Gurudwara was donated by Nawab Mehndi Ali Khan. Karsewa began in 1975. The gurudwara building is magnificent and has marble all over. The complex consists of the main hall, the langar hall, the parikarama, the sarai, offices, etc. A second gurudwara, Gurudwara Patshahi Sixth, is also present here. The pipaltree under which Guru Nanak Dev sat can also be seen between the main building and Gurudwara Patshahi Chhevi.

About 140 km from this shrine is another famous spot called Gurudwara Reetha Sahib. When Guru Nanak along with companion Mardana visited this place, he took rest under...

Nanakmatta: A Sanctuary of Serenity and Spirituality Nanakmatta, a town anchored by the revered Gurdwara Sri Nanakmatta Sahib, is undeniably a place imbued with a profound sense of peace and spirituality. Stepping onto the gurdwara complex is like entering a tranquil oasis, a world removed from the everyday hustle and bustle. The historical significance of the gurdwara, tied directly to Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit, is palpable. The serene atmosphere, the rhythmic chanting of Gurbani, and the sight of devotees offering their prayers create an aura of deep devotion. The Sarovar (holy pond) adds to the calming ambiance, reflecting the sky and the surrounding structures, inviting contemplation. Beyond the religious significance, the sheer hospitality and warmth of the people associated with the gurdwara is remarkable. The langar, the community kitchen offering free meals, is a testament to the Sikh principle of seva (selfless service). The food is simple, delicious, and served with genuine love. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and the Nanak Sagar Dam, complements the spiritual experience, offering a visual feast and a chance to connect with nature. Highlights: * Gurdwara Sri Nanakmatta Sahib: A place of deep spiritual significance and historical importance. * The Sarovar: A peaceful and reflective body of water. * Langar: A demonstration of selfless service and community spirit. * The surrounding natural beauty: A serene and calming environment. * The feeling of peace and tranquility: A place to escape and reflect. Nanakmatta is more than just a religious site; it's a sanctuary for the soul. Whether you're a devout Sikh or simply seeking a moment of peace, a visit to Nanakmatta is an enriching and deeply moving experience. It is truly a God's place.
