For a place advertised as being the birthplace of Samrat Bharat, after whom the country gets its name, it was disappointing, a picture of neglect. A local citizens committee has taken pains to at least create a shrine of sorts with statues depicting the wedding of Puruvamsh Samrat Dushyant and Shakuntala, presided over by Maharshi Kanva, and a statue of Bharat as a child playing with a Tiger, these have been squeezed into a caged area that's central to the shrine.
