Kausani Tea Estate is nestled in the picturesque Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India. Situated at an altitude of over 6,000 feet above sea level, it offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayan peaks including Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli. The estate spans over acres of lush greenery, with neatly trimmed tea bushes dotting the landscape.

Established during the British colonial era, Kausani Tea Estate has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. It benefits from the unique climate and soil conditions of the region, which contribute to the distinct flavor and aroma of its teas. The cool mountain air, ample rainfall, and fertile soil create an ideal environment for tea cultivation.

The estate primarily produces orthodox tea, known for its superior quality and flavor. The tea leaves are hand-plucked by skilled workers, ensuring only the finest leaves are selected for processing. These leaves undergo careful processing techniques, including withering, rolling, oxidation, and drying, to preserve their natural flavors and aromas.

Kausani Tea Estate offers guided tours for visitors, providing insights into the tea-making process and the history of tea cultivation in the region. Visitors can explore the sprawling tea gardens, interact with the local workers, and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas.

In addition to its scenic beauty and premium teas, Kausani Tea Estate contributes to the local economy by providing employment opportunities to the surrounding communities. It also promotes sustainable farming practices to preserve the natural ecosystem of the region.

Overall, Kausani Tea Estate is not only a haven for tea enthusiasts but also a testament to the rich cultural and natural heritage of the...

Disappointing Tea Garden Experience: Not Worth Your Time or Money Save your ₹25 and skip the tea garden. Honestly, there’s very little to see, and the reality of the garden will likely fall far short of any expectations you might have. For the price of admission, you’d anticipate a more engaging and visually appealing experience, but what you’ll likely find is rather underwhelming. Adding to the disappointment is the unwelcoming atmosphere at the tea stall located at the top. The person running it was quite unfriendly, and to make matters worse, the prices for anything you might want to purchase are excessively high. It leaves a sour taste, especially after already feeling let down by the garden itself. When you’re on vacation, time is precious, and so is your money. Spending it here feels like a waste of both. Instead of leaving feeling refreshed and having enjoyed a pleasant visit, you’ll likely feel like you’ve spent your valuable time and hard-earned money on something that wasn’t worthwhile. My strong recommendation is to look elsewhere for activities that will genuinely enhance your vacation. There are undoubtedly more rewarding ways to spend your time and money in this area. Don’t let this tea garden be a source of regret during your trip. Choose to invest your limited vacation time in places that will bring you joy and create lasting, positive memories. This particular tea garden, unfortunately, is not...

Parts of Uttrakhand is famous for black tea cultivation and Kasauni is no different.

This place is free to visit but do visit the factory as there will always be someone from the State Board to give you the tour while he don't expect any money for providing this tour but it's a nice gesture to give him a tip of INR 100-200/- which we also did.

And if you're looking to buy Black Tea only but from the stall which inside the tea garden as his rates are reasonable compared to others which you might find on your way to some other destination.

And while having tea with from this stall you can engage with him about things that are grown in Kasauni which is varied variety from Apples, Peach, Kiwis etc. And he might tell you from which tree you can pluck these fresh fruits and enjoy...

If you haven't seen a tea plantation area before then it's a must go to place and enjoy the scenic and pretty views of the tea garden and fresh tea leaves which end up in your tea later [ You probably will buy the variety of tea choices selling outside and in my opinion you should ] It has a little eating place inside too for your super short trek cravings that will fill you up after you are done walking in and out of tea garden and clicking lots of pictures. A must go place and please buy lots of tea and other products to support and help local vendors plus for a really great tea experience for when you enjoy the tea at home from KAUSANI TEA ESTATE 😊

The tea estate is situated at a roadside, the approach passage to tea estate was bad and dirty. Not a big plantation, one has to climb uphill to explore the tea garden. Due to uphill walk and inconvenient pathways, visit may not be preferred for Sr. Citizens. There is some small shed within tea garden where one can rest in between the visit, also there exits small shop selling tea, maggi etc. One may go-ahead for a leisurely stroll in the tea garden and a view of surrounding from the top of the estate. Overall average experience. If you have already been into any tea garden earlier then you can skip the place.
