This fall is not natural one rather it's outlet of overflow discharge of Maneri Bhali hydroelectric project on Bhagirathi river. It's really beautiful and powerful. The water escapes like a raging hippopotamus from a squarish hole to the side of the hill, and sprays everyone on the road with a fine mist.
If the sun is right behind you, like, say, around 1-2 pm, you could even see a beautiful rainbow right over the road to Gangotri like in the picture.
That's what the entrance to Goddess Ganga's birthplace ought to look...
