Moteshwar Mahadev Temple is situated on the banks of Mahadev Nagar in Chaiti Maidan of Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. There is a temple of Mata Bal Sundari just in front of the temple. This temple is said to be of Mahabharata period and its Shivling is considered to be the twelfth Upajyotirlinga. Due to the thickness of Shivling, it is famous as Moteshwar Mahadev Temple. According to Skanda Purana, Lord Shiva said that the devotee who will bring Ganga water from Haridwar on his shoulder and offer it here, will get salvation.
