Nag Devta Temple is an ancient Hindu shrine situated approximately 6 kilometers from Mussoorie's city center, along Cart Mackenzie Road leading towards Dehradun. This temple is dedicated to the Snake God, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, and holds significant religious importance for the local community.

The temple's origins are shrouded in mystery, with no definitive records detailing its establishment, adding to its enigmatic allure. The architecture reflects traditional hill designs, featuring intricate wood and stone carvings that resonate with the cultural heritage of the region. Visitors are greeted with panoramic views of the Doon Valley and the Mussoorie town, making it a serene spot for both devotees and tourists seeking tranquility amidst nature.

A significant event at the temple is the annual Nag Panchami festival, during which the temple is adorned beautifully, and devotees from various parts gather to participate in the rituals. On this auspicious day, pilgrims offer milk to live snakes, symbolizing reverence to the deity, and seek blessings for prosperity and protection.

The temple is accessible by a motorable road, making it convenient for visitors. The journey to the temple is a delightful experience, offering scenic vistas of lush green forests and the rolling hills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges. The tranquil environment and the spiritual ambiance provide a perfect retreat from the bustling city life, allowing visitors to connect with nature and spirituality simultaneously.

For those planning a visit, the temple operates daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and there is no entry fee, making it an accessible destination for all. Whether you are a devotee seeking blessings or a traveler yearning for peace and picturesque landscapes, Nag Devta Temple offers a unique blend of cultural richness and natural beauty.

In conclusion, Nag Devta Temple is not just a place of worship but also a testament to the rich cultural and religious tapestry of Mussoorie. Its serene ambiance, coupled with the breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone...

It is towards the kimadi side of Mussoorie, you would miss the turn towards the temple. As I did it’s slight left towards the actual road with an arch reading” pracheen nag devta mandir”. After entering the arch it’s barely 3-4km drive though it’s not a pakka road. Better avoid during monsoons as the place infamous for landslides. There is no place for not more than 10 cars as you can see the pictures attached. One can enjoy a nice walk from the starting point as soon as you take the turn or just trust your instincts and find a tight parking spot. It’s barely 700 m walk or trek however you say it. The temple is surrounded by two large meadows on either side where you can sit/meditate/relax. Along with the temple there’s a small house where the priest stays. It’s a 1-2 hr affair but a place...
