Satopanth Tal — Attraction in Uttarakhand

This place is literally heaven on earth.It is about 25km acend from managaun to Satopant.This place has religious aspect as well.It is believed that Pandvas travelled on this path for the first time in the search of 'Moksha'.On the way at distinct places one by one all Pandvas life came to an end except yudhisthira and a dog.Only Bheem Sain could survive till Satopanth lake.But even Bheem Sain couldn't continue after Satopanth lake.It is believed that Pandvas had a dog along with them who also travelled the whole way with them.But at Satopanth the wounded dog was suffering.So, yudhisthira cleaned the dog's wound in Satopanth lake.But that lake belonged to 7 Goddess, whom everyone worship during Navratri.All those seven Goddess were annoyed with that deed of yudhisthira, as their holy pond become contaminated.Hence, all Goddess called three God (Generator)Bhrama,(Organiser)Vishnu and (Distroyer)Shiva.All three of them took bath in that pond on the day of ekadashi and made that pond holy again and told everyone that whoever will take bath in this lake on the day of Ekadashi will get moksha, as all three of us will come and take bath in this lake on this day. Further yudhisthira continued his journey till swargarohini.Where Pushpakviman of Dharamraj came and asked him to come inside.He was getting inside along with the same dog but he was refused to take God along.But, yudhisthira replied that no family member of mine could make till here.The dog was the only companion who did not left him till the end.So,how I can leave him behind.I don't want moksha alone,if you wouldn't let him in then even I don't want to come with you.After this, that black dog turned in to Dharamraj.That dog was dharamraj himself and dharamraj told him that this was your last test which you needed to pass to get moksha.If you might have left dog behind then you couldn't get moksha. I paid visit this place with two trek partners of mine.We hired a local guide and two Potters.It was so Tough to reach their but all your pains disappear once you reach at Satopanth.Throughout the way you get mesmerizing seanetic beauty.It is just living in a beautiful dream.If I would get chance to go to this place once again then I would never miss that...

All 3 murthees, live in the 3 corners of this lake at 14600 ft. crystal clear water, this is a starting point of River Alaknanda, which is later join with Ganga, Devathas come for bath in the early morning at Brama mugurtham in a the light form, we wittnessed, their foot prints on the sand, will post the same to you to wittnes, further up , trek to Chandra kund , then Surya kind, now Surya kund closed, by debris at 16000ft, further up trek to Swargorohan the 7 glaciers steps to Swargha entry point . At 12 to 13000 ft first u wittnes Lakshmi van full of Bhodi trees for first day halt, on River Alkananda banks, here Lordess Lakshmi did Thpas to marry Narayan in the form of Bhodi tree. Then Chkrateerth u r base camp for 2nd day. Where, Vishuna chakra form land u will witness, From Badrinath, this is complete 25 to 30 km trek, first u cross, Mana the last village , where, Ganesh and Veda Vyasa gufas, from where they have written the Mahabharata, then u wittnes River Saraswathi, take bath, it disappears inside earth, then appear on Triveni Sangram, near Allahabad, she is called Antharvahini, as she travels, inside earth, the Drawpathi temple, where she died, then Badrinathjees Mother temple . A very holy lake in high Himalayan range at a height of about 4500 meters from MSL .This place is about 28 KM away from Holy place of Badrinath town in Uttarakhand .Its a 6 days trek from Badrinath through Mana , Anand Van, Chamtoli , Lakshmi Van and Chakrateerth .Its a green & Crystal water lake where it is believed that All the three Gods Brahma , Shiv and Vishnu come to take a holy dip on the auspicious day of Ekadashi according to Hindu Mythology .After this lake you may go to to see Swargarohini peaks. This trek path is supposed that Pandavas follow this trek in their last journey to reach Swarg i.e Heaven but ultimately only Yuddhishther could reach to swarg and other Pandavas died due to their sin commited in tbeir lives . On this trek you can see Balakun , Chaukhambha and Neelkanth montains along with Dhanu glacier and Bhagirathi glacier.
