The Vishnu Charan Paduka is believed to be the place where Lord Vishnu’s footprints were imprinted. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu is said to have visited this place during his time on Earth in the form of his avatar, and the site holds great religious significance. The footprint is an important symbol for the devotees of Vishnu, signifying his divine presence. The Vishnu Charan Paduka is located approximately 3 km from the main Badrinath Temple in the Narayan Parvat range, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. • The site is perched at an altitude of around 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) above sea level, adding to its mysticism and spiritual aura. The best time to visit the Vishnu Charan Paduka is during the summer months (May to June) and post-monsoon season (September to October) when the weather is relatively clear, and the trekking conditions are favorable. • The Badrinath Temple itself is open for pilgrimage between May and October, as the region is often closed during winter due to heavy snow and freezing temperatures.

Charan Paduka, a beautiful rock having the foot impressions of Lord Vishnu is one of the popular attractions of Badrinath. Charan Paduka is a sacred rock having the imprints of Lord Vishnu's ft. Attracting the attention of the tourists from everywhere in the international. The Charan Paduka is perched at an elevation of 3,380 toes above sea level. According to Hindu mythology, it became right here that Lord Vishnu placed his foot rest. As in step with the references mentioned in Bhagwat Puran, Uddhav the minister of Lord Krishna took the Charan Paduka of the deity to remove his wrongdoings. Positioned on Narayan Parvat, Charan Paduka may be without problems reached through commencing a short trek of three km, after which you want to take the swift ight of stairs. Temple is a shape reserved for spiritual or non secular rituals and activities consisting of prayer and sacrifice. Phrase comes from Ancient Rome, in which a templum constituted a sacred precinct as described by means of a priest, or augur.

Not to be missed while visiting Badrinath. The way starts from left side of Badrinath temple. It's about 1.5 km from where the stairs start and the first one km is a bit steep, with a mixture of incline and stairs and one may go slowly here. One gets to see a panormic view of the Badrinath valley from here. After 1 km, the trek has a very less incline and one is greeted with a majestic view of Neelkanth in the background with Nar and Narayan mountains on either side. Rishi Ganga flows to left between the mountains though it's not visible. One finds Vishnu Charan Paduka about 1.5 km into the trek. The way ahead is much steeper and leads to the Neelkanth Base Camp 7 km ahead. Luckily, we visited on a clear day in November after days of snow. The way was a bit risky as the snow was melting on some stairs but it was ankle high snow once we got through.

At a distance of 3 kms up on the Himalayan mountains towards Neelakantha mountain at Badrinath is located the Charan Paduka of Lord Vishnu. It is a beautiful rock structure which is believed to be the holding of the footprints of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu first sets his foot at this place on earth. The Darshan or vision of these footprints are enough to rid sin of a person of various lifetimes. The charan Paduka is perched at an elevation hence one has to climb on steep mountains and stairs to reach. It is a real test of patience and energy of mind and physical strength. Few tips would be that a heart patient should avoid to go as constant climbing can be fatal. Also the oxygen level depletes above hence breathing becomes difficult. Snowfall, rain can come anytime. Climate changes abruptly. Please go in groups as staying together will give strength and motivation. Carry water and winter cloth to cover nose and ear as the winds are very chilly and person can become unconscious too because of less oxygen and extreme cold. The yatra can be started from Badrinath Temple and the symbols are marked for the journey....
