At a distance of 3 kms up on the Himalayan mountains towards Neelakantha mountain at Badrinath is located the Charan Paduka of Lord Vishnu. It is a beautiful rock structure which is believed to be the holding of the footprints of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu first sets his foot at this place on earth. The Darshan or vision of these footprints are enough to rid sin of a person of various lifetimes. The charan Paduka is perched at an elevation hence one has to climb on steep mountains and stairs to reach. It is a real test of patience and energy of mind and physical strength.
