To visit Assalay waterfall we parked our car much before the village named Kharbani - the point where steep down road starts from. We walked down to the Kharbani village in an hour with a few photo-sessions on the way. There is a sign-board hanging from a tree directing the way to the waterfall through the tea gardens. It was all green around us at this monsoon time of the year. Scenic beauty of the way to fall truly reduced our tiredness. It was a long treking route steep down to the fall with an uneven path having pebles and stones all around and soon after another half an hour we met a tea-plucker group who suggested us to go with a jeep type car and one of them contacted a local driver. We waited for the car for 10-15 minutes and when we started by that car, we found, it was more horrible but after 20 minutes or so we reached at the ticket counter - the point from where stairs were there to go up. When we started going up by the stairs, we became more exhausted and we took break at multiple points. We stepped there very slowly since the stairs were also slippery. After another half an hour we ultimately reached to the fall. The waterfall was in full swing with heavy force of water droping down to the rocks and the scene was very enchanting. The cool breeze and sprinkles touched our faces. We were very thirsty and tried to drink the water...

Nestled amidst nature's embrace, this small waterfall offers a picturesque retreat that can be both enchanting and challenging. Let's dive into the experience.

The journey to reach the waterfall can be arduous due to rough roads that demand careful navigation. The uneven terrain may require extra caution, but for those who persevere, the destination is well worth the effort.

Upon arrival, the serenity of the surroundings creates an immediate sense of tranquility. The waterfall cascades gracefully, painting a mesmerizing portrait that soothes the senses. The peaceful ambiance makes it an ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

However, it is essential to note that during the summer months, the waterfall's flow diminishes significantly, and at times it may even dry up almost entirely. While this may be disappointing for visitors seeking a powerful cascade, it provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the waterfall's intricate rock formations and the natural beauty that emerges in its absence.

Overall, despite the challenges encountered along the way, this small waterfall offers a charming oasis that can captivate the adventurous spirit. Embrace the opportunity to connect with nature, but plan your visit accordingly to fully appreciate the waterfall's...

To reach Asalya Waterfall, you need to drive 45 km from Siliguri towards Mirik. After that, you will have to walk for about 5 to 6 km uphill, which is a long trek. You can find the location on the map. Then, to get to the waterfall, you need to walk another 2 to 3 km on a steep path. What you'll see there is nothing short of paradise, but the path is quite rough. If you're not experienced, I wouldn't recommend this place. However, if you still want to go, proceed at your own risk. The journey is quite spectacular. At 5 PM, a truck goes up, and you can hitch a ride in it to reach your car. The truck driver doesn't charge for this, so get ready for an...

If planning on visiting this falls, come during monsoon or post-monsoon season.. Dont take the route showing in google maps (if not updated).. Come to Kharbani and then go to asalea falls.. You can take your bike to the base, but I would suggest to not take your as going down it is still possible but returning up would be a challenge if you don't have experience of riding on the particular Road.. I took RE Himalayan, still I had problems coming back up.. There is a taxi service and they take ₹1000 for down and up.. The waterfall is awesome, it's a must visit place.
