Dow Hill Church, tucked away in the misty hills of Kurseong, carries an aura of mystery that has captivated visitors for generations. Surrounded by dense forests and the hauntingly quiet roads of Dow Hill, this old church stands as a relic of colonial architecture, its weathered walls whispering tales of the past.

Legend has it that the church is not just a place of worship but a portal to the unknown. Locals speak of eerie occurrences—shadowy figures seen walking near its grounds during twilight, faint echoes of hymns in the dead of night, and a chilling sensation that grips anyone who dares linger too long. Some believe the spirits of those who once sought solace here now remain trapped, their whispers carried by the wind.

One particularly unsettling tale tells of a traveler who sought shelter at the church during a storm. As the rain lashed the windows, he claimed to have heard footsteps circling the pews, though he was alone. The next morning, the storm cleared, but the traveler was gone—his belongings left behind, untouched.

Despite the chilling stories, Dow Hill Church remains a fascinating destination, blending history, beauty, and mystery into an unforgettable experience for those brave...

It is an abandoned church, closed to everyone. One can visit and have a look at it from the outside (outside the compound). The main entrance to the church is closed but its situated inside the compound of Victoria Boys School, therefore one can enter to visit the church from their entrance. Tourists are nrmly not allowed, but theres a tea stall beside the main gate, if you have tea or food there, the owners of the tea stall will take you inside to see the church. Its 2mins uphill walk from the gate..on returning the gateman will ask for some tips.. we gave 50bucks.. The church looks very scary bt is not haunted. During daytime one will feel nothing.. but during foggy weather or dark cloudy days.. one might be scared. There are CCTV s in place so that no one enters the church compounds illegaly.

Now, talking about the road to reach the church.. if you have booked a car, they would know the way. We drove our own car so we had to follow the gps. But during the later part the google maps was all wrong and inaccurate. We had to ask the locals for the right way. There was no network most of the way. The roads are narrow and up n down... bt beautiful with dense pine...
