Millennium Science Park Ashoknagar — Attraction in West Bengal

The park is situated in a small town known as Ashoknagar. The railway station is known as "Ashoknagar Road". The place falls under Habra district in north 24 parganas. It is a very peaceful town with all possible facilities including entertainment. As a part of fun and entertainment there are two parks in ashoknagar. One known as "sanghati park" another one known as millennium science park. The exact location where the millennium park is situated is known as kalyangarh,which is absolutely in a prominent place of the town. The opening timing of the park is divided in two zones. One is from 1st March to 30th November and the timing is from 2:30 pm to 8:00 pm and another zone is from 1st December to 29th(28th) February and the timing is 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Declared holidays are : Holi (dol yatra) Lakshmi puja Kali puja The normal entry fee inside the park is Rs. 20.00 only per head. The park is available for picnic also. There is a guesthouse inside the park which can be booked from the office and the charges are Rs. 3000.00 only for a day. Other than the guest house people can use other open spaces too for picnic purpose. For a group comprising 50 heads is Rs. 500.00, Rs. 700.00, Rs. 1000.00, Rs. 1200.00 only depending on the space used. Inside the park no alcoholic drinks are allowed. There are lot of rides inside the park. Along with the entry tickets one can book the tickets for the rides from the same ticket counter or else in front of each ride there is a small ticket counter from where one can get the tickets separately. The charges of the fun rides like ropeway, planetarium, toy train(Dragon) and others are very much reasonable, like Rs 20. 00 for the toy train. The park is well maintained. It has toilet inside and also a food court. The only thing which personally I felt wrong that is there is notice on the window of the ticket counter and it is written that one can take photos with the mobile phone but if a camera is used then separately have to pay Rs. 50.00 towards "camera charges" and if someone wants to do videography then the charge will be different and more. The concerned authoritie must admit the fact that, nowadays there is no such difference with a separate device called a camera and the camera which is fixed in the mobile phone set. Technologically both the cameras are same, so this "camera charges" should be waived off because has no scientific reason. Overall the park is nice, beautiful and safe. It is well connected with Habra station and ashoknagar road station as well by bus and auto and also Toto. The fares are Rs. 6.00 / Rs. 7.00 only in auto. Both Habra and Ashoknagar road stations are well connected with sealdadha main railway station in Kolkata city by local trains. Train fare between Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 only. The Millenium Science Park developed in the Habra town of the North 24 Parganas district is like a paradise for picnickers in Kolkata and the surrounding region. On a foggy winter morning move out in a group to this nearest picnic spot located merely ninety minutes away from the Kolkata city. This picnic spot is known affectionately for the surrounding covered by the trees of a most peculiar shade of green. Explore the green shade of different types of trees, beautifully seasonal decorated gardens, green lawn of grasses, fountains, Science Museum, ropeway, etc with your kith and kin. In between the picnic activities enjoying a boat ride would be an extremely welcome idea which you would not like to miss for sure. At one corner of the park there are items like swings, fountains, ropeway, swimming boat, metro bus, Science Museum for the entertainment of kids. Moreover, the fifty seated Planetarium is the new attraction of the spot.

The boating fee per person is RS 15, bus ride is RS 5, Dragon train ride is RS 10, entry fee of Science Museum is RS 5, entry fee at the planetarium is RS 15 and ropeway ride is RS 15 per person. This is one area of development where you would have the option to choose between five picnic spots. That said, the rent for the guest house (three rooms with attached bathrooms) is RS 2000 only. The rent of spots with tin shades is RS 1000, RS 800 and RS 500 respectively. The rent for the open sky spot is RS 400 only. You may book a spot in advance, at your leisure, if you wish. A good park is a huge park in our district.

There are a lot of people who come here from far and wide to have fun. They also come here to make love with their lovers. There are also a lot of people who come here in the afternoon or from morning to noon or most of the day and spend most of their time in this park.
