Read moreSikia Jhora is a good picnic spot for all ages. Sikia means comb in Nepali referring to the rocks over which the water flows. Jhora means a stream. Sikia Jhora translates to "Comb like stream". The place has walking path around the stream, lot of shady places, the highlight of course is the boating which seems to be very popular. As my visit was on a holiday, the place was quite crowded. Local transport is not available, one has to travel by own transport. Sufficient parking is available. No fancy eating places. Only one hotel servs simple lunch. Advisable to carry own eats if possible. Tit bit snaks and water available for payment. The natural sound of the oars mixed with that of the forest will make it poignant. Ugh! A life time experience, never to be forgotten. And there are birds, a lots of birds. A paradise for bird lovers. Please don't miss the ride. Best time to take it is in the afternoon, when birds and animals usually come home. The boat ride made is worth...
