Physiographically, this area is part of the Bankura Uplands in the west gradually merging with the Bankura-Bishnupur Rarh Plains in the north-east. The western portions are characterised by undulating terrain with many hills and ridges. The area is having a gradual descent from the Chota Nagpur Plateau. The soil is laterite red and hard beds are covered with scrub jungle and sal wood. Gradually it gives way to just uneven rolling lands but the soil continues to be lateritic. A two-day rock climbing program and training sessions for adventurers are organized here. But even if you don't do this sport, you have many reasons to go to this exciting mountain. A walk around the mountains enchants you with the magical beauty of nature. You can enjoy panoramic views of the eastern gorges and admire the green blankets covering them. Additionally, here you can explore the water-flowing monolith of the infamous Grand Lord Narsingh and drink the holy water that falls from its cliff. Both the Gardeshwari River and its tributary the Darakeswari River cut through the hills and graced the Susuniya Hills, bringing with them vitality. You can picnic on the banks of this lively river while enjoying the magnificent view of the colorful green leaves and the colorful water created by the blue water of the river. Bankura area is famous for designing terracotta products, actually these products are very popular for sale in Kolkata capital. These products are very affordable throughout the region.
