Read moreThose who are planning to visit Taki on a weekend tour, please put "Taki Toursit Spot" in your google maps to get the correct direction. Navigating to "Taki" will take you elsewhere quite a distance away from this spot. What to expect here - As is the case with most tourist spots in India, this too is very crowded. However there is a big parking space here. Four wheelers are charged 150/- Rs flat. To visit the different spots in Taki, one will have to hire a Toto. The Toto guys can charge anything between 600/- to 1000/- bucks for a two hour trip. The roads/lanes are so narrow that only Totos can easily navigate them. There is a BSF check point where you will have to submit your India Govt issued I cards like DL, Voter ID, Aadhar etc. The toto won't go beyond that point. Here you will have to hire a "van" rickshaw. It will take you to the Gol Pata Forest. The charge is 20/- for a to and fro trip. Otherwise, one can walk the distance. It's around 1.5Kms from the BSF check post. The Gol Pata forest is also named as mini Sunderban. The Icchamati River and Bangladesh border are clearly visible from this spot. You can buy "Khejur Gur" from the locals here. Once you've come back from the Gol Pata forest and collected your ID card from BSF check post the toto will take you to the remaining spots in Taki. One must see the Zamindar bari. Entry tickets are 10/- Rs per head. Its an old building. You can take photos here. The toto guy will take you to Temples and other places in Taki ....it's basically a rural area....The overall feel is good. Once the Toto drops you back you can go for a boat ride on the Icchamati River. The entire trip of Taki can be completed in one day. It's definitely a must visit place for people of West Bengal and...
