The place Yelbong is too good, the weather was pleasant up there in the homestay. The thing I like the most is the hospitality, the weather, evening bees sound, the people of Yelbong, delicious food and many more. But I want everyone to know a few of the myths around Yelbong. Google Maps will only take you half the way to Yelbong. It's more 4KM with a very rough road - actually you don't find any road as on 30 May 25. Homestays are awesome, the people are also very humble and the hospitality no one can even question about it. Beawar to close all your window in evening time or else there may be đ insects and flys inside the room. Trekking is fun but very risky at the same time. Don't even think of going in the rainy season. May Month should be the last but rain can happen. Network issue can be a big concern for working professional.
NOTE: " I almost died in Yelbong" First thing first there is not enough safety equipment for you to go for a trek, the only thing you will get is the Halmet and it saves a lot. Second there will be a guide assigned to a group of 5-6 members max. But the catch is the guide is just a normal guy from the local they will not take any responsibility for any mis- happening. Yes they are very helpful and help you in every tough terrain possible, they will ensure your safety. Still mistakes can happen. Third - There is a tough route where you have to swim and cross the water path as it is almost 11 to 12 feet deep and 15-20 feet long. I didn't get any instructions regarding how to cross and what I was supposed to do. I was drowned in that particular water - I just can't explain the whole experience but I thank a lot who saved my life. Tanmay who also came for trekking jumped into the water to save my life and the guide who didn't stop pulling the bamboo I was holding into. Moral of the story - Don't risk your life if you are not feeling like crossing any path. Even so many locals also haven't visited the cannon area where the trek happens.
