Interesting, rocky shore line with a thin stretch of sand. About 45 mins drive from Chennai centre. The curved road located right next to the beach provides excellent photography opportunities especially during the sunset.
No standard food outlets are available on or near the beach. There are some small, make - do food stalls there (just 2 or 3 stalls) such as the ones you would find in the marina beach or the Elliot's beach but I am not sure about the hygiene or quality of the food. Bottom line - don't go there on an empty stomach with an anticipation that you could get something to eat there.
Worth a visit if you could tolerate the strong stench as it is amidst fishing boats. Personally, I could stay here for no more than 20 mins given the odour, but nonetheless couldn't stop recommending this place for atleast an one time visit because of its...
Read more1986 - 1989...those were the time i spent time on this beach as a kid...the happiest times of all in my life...couldn't forget the joy even for a moment, the silence before the waves , the air the beach breathes in and out still lingers in my ears...you wont see much vehicles passing except 56H pallavan bus...me n my sister played hard and built many castles over there...that beach was our playground...we were friends with many crabs and shells...the distance between road and beach is very far..you wont believe the difference if i had a picture of it...it was pristine without any rocks or garbage as its now...the clear white sand and pure water...it was a heaven...i think i wont forget it till my death ...i will visit it once...
Read moreWe went quite late in the evening. The entrance to the rock platform kind of thing that projects into the sea was blocked. It was quite desolate except for one small group of men and women sitting over the rocks giving us confidence that we may do so as well. But as we arrived, they to left. The view from over the rocks is blissful as you see the waves crashing onto the concrete pillars and the water doing a sprightly bounce. However in a short time trucks started crowding the rock wall completely cutting our view to the road, playing loud music and quarreling louder.
