The Presiding Deity here is Kari Varadaraja Perumal is an Uthsavar. Kari in Tamil means an Elephant and hence the Kari Varadaraja Perumal. His Consort is known as Kanakavalli Thayar.

The Moolavar is called as Venkata Varadaraja Perumal. It is believed that Devotees who are unable to visit Varadaraja Perumal Temple at Kanchipuram could compensate it by visiting this Temple.
