I've just known this. Sentul has some pretty cool spot. Hidden in the middle of hills and villages is a geological wonder. The Earth’s greatest hit have been immortalized and named: --Goa Agung Garonggang--
Just an hour’s drive south of Jakarta, you'll find yourself navigating some winding village and countryside roads. Don't worry, it's not a wild ride—safe enough for your beloved vehicles.
Once you hit the entrance, time to park and start your trek. The path is quite the delight, especially with the beautiful hilly scenery. A definite bonus for this spot.
Then, voila, you’ve arrived at Garonggang Cave. The outside is a geological masterpiece, full of rocky textures and shapes that are a feast for the eyes. The cave entrance is a bit of a squeeze and goes downward. I strongly suggest having a tour guide (they name him 'kuncen'). Trust me, you don’t want to get lost and become a permanent resident ..of the.. darkness 🌑
Inside, you’ll find the usual yet still mesmerizing cave suspects: rocks, stalagmites, stalactites, a trickle of water, and some of the cave's natural 'inhabitants'—bats and tiny crabs. It’s like nature’s own creepy-crawly Airbnb.
Channel your inner explorer and spelunking into the cave to your heart’s content. Don’t forget your torch or other light sources. It can get pretty stuffy and cramped in there, so make sure you’re fit and up for the challenge. And if you’re claustrophobic, well, this might not be your cup of tea.
Alrighty, adventurers. That’s all for now. Catch you later,...
Read moreThis is the second time I have visited this place in the last three weeks, on my first visit I have no time to explore this place well since on that time our group was quite large about 14 cars and 10 bikes also the time was not sufficient because we had to continue the off road to escape up to the axis road.
It’s the only one access go through a portal which only opens until five o'clock in the afternoon, the weather at the time was heavy rain also so it was very difficult to pass through the road when it rained because it was slippery and at risk of landslides.
On the second visit our group had only two cars and had plenty of time to look around the place. Basically this place is quite recommended for seeing sights that are rarely found in other places which are not too far from the city of Bogor, the beauty of natural stones arranged like a layer cake and a cave which although not too big but very amazing.
This place has also recently built a Mushollah for Muslim visitors. One thing that has not been found in this place is adequate accommodation, making it difficult for visitors to rest in a relaxed manner and general facilities are not yet available.
I hope that in the future there will be private parties investing...
Read moreI’m actually glad this place is underrated otherwise humans would probably ruin the conservation of the natural “garunggang cave”. From the parking lot to the village, it takes around a 10-15 minute walk, and then it’s best to get a local guide to direct you to the closest way to the cave, or otherwise you’ll just end up walking 2 hours for nothing or even get lost. Honestly, my first impression of the cave was it looked so artificial, but the guide ensured it wasn’t, however, he also lacked history of the cave itself. I think the management of this cave needs to educate it’s locals/workers to know the history and what this cave is all about. Otherwise, what’s the point of visiting this place if you aren’t learning...
