Extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism this place had. Ecspecially since I had friends go the day prior to us and they were happy with the experience. We went onto their website to try and find pricing for elephant rides. Found an amazing deal of 1 hour ride for $105, we called to confirm this and spoke to a "Wya" (not sure on spelling) he is the marketing manager I believe from what I got from the front desk, he confirmed and said to bargain with them when we got there. We had our driver drive us an hour and a half there and when we got there it seemed pretty run down to start. Once we talked to them, they said that they don't offer an hour anymore, that the website shows their old brochure but that the price is still the same and only for 30 min which we totally understood that sometimes websites are not updated right away when changes are made. However, I asked since we booked the appointment online for 1 hour for $105 but they don't offer 1 hour anymore, if they would still honor the 15% discount for the 30 min ride you get for booking online, after a lot of back and forth they told us they would give us 15% off but that we would have to share an elephant vs getting our own , I assume they did that because they were giving us 15% off. Which is 2k Rupiah (16 dollars). Completely opposite to what our friends did, they each had an elephant and sat on their back at this price. We asked if we could speak to Wya and they made multiple attempts to reach him but were unable to, I also tried reaching him on the number I originally called and it just went to voicemail everytime. They lady at the front seemed extremely argumentative and not willing to resolve the issue at all considering it was a miscommunication...
Read moreAbsolutely Disgusting, went Elephant riding and left in absolute tears. The elephants are locked up on a short chain all day all piled up basically one on top of another, theres probably not even half a meter space between them all. All you can see is broken animals full of fear yanking the chains that are strapped to their legs to try and get out of them which is absolutely heart breaking, they’re chained with no water or food and surrounded by piles of their own poo which clearly hasn’t been cleaned up in weeks. They’re forced by the workers to do certain tricks and listen to everything they say, when they dont the workers stab them in the heads with metal hooks as hard as they can which is honestly the most cruel and disgusting thing I have ever seen. Everytime they hit them they try to do it on the sly checking if you’re looking first so you dont see it. When I said to them that I thinking its disgusting that then stab them with the hook ( especially with all the power they have) they said its for control. This is literally psychopathic behaviour. Would never ever recommend this place or any other one that holds elephants captive after seeing what I seen today. Its absolutely heartbreaking and you have to be a sick individual to be able to do that to any animal. The monkeys are locked away in tiny mouldy cages one by one with no food or water. Not even a leaf in the cage its just a concrete block with mould and the poor animals poo that isnt cleaned up either, they’re only let out when someone pays to have their photo taken with them. This is THE worst thing I have ever seen in my life and the people there are...
Read moreAbsolutely cruel place. I went here because I was told I could feed elephants who are rescues. The elephants looked mostly healthy and had a decent enclosure, but the place was also a mini zoo where animals were in horrible concrete cages with barely any natural lighting or even a window. One cage was for a few otters who sounded like they were crying and ran up to the viewing part of their cement box, reaching their hands out to my friends and I. When handing them leaves or sticks they would grab them, let go, and reach their hands back out, continuing to shriek in agony. They had a small puddle to play in, that was it. There were numerous other birds and mammals in similar cages where they had all solid concrete walls and barely anything inside the cage to keep them busy, it was dark and depressing within their enclosures. The orangutan didn’t have a single tree and kept reaching out his hand like he was asking for us to help him escape. Overall this was a horrible experience and I’m upset that I helped support this inhumane place by purchasing an entrance ticket. I don’t encourage anyone to visit this place unless they want to ruin their day and support animal cruelty in...
