My recent trip to Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall in Bali was an enchanting experience I’ll never forget! The journey to the falls was a beautiful adventure in itself, with lush greenery and rice terraces lining the way. When I arrived, I was welcomed by the sound of cascading water and the serene ambiance of the surrounding forest.
The waterfall itself is stunning, with multiple streams creating an impressive display. The crystal-clear water was refreshing, we did not take a dip after our hike. But others were in the water. I was amazed by the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere that allowed me to truly disconnect and immerse myself in nature.
The pathways were well-maintained, making the walk to the waterfall easy and enjoyable. Approximately 30 minutes walk down, various steps and flat concrete pavers. There were several spots along the way that offered breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
You can always hire a ride with a local to take you back up the hike for less than $10 dollars (100k IDR - cash only)
Overall, Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall is a must-visit if you’re in Bali and seeking an escape into nature. Whether you’re an adventure enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful retreat, this hidden gem won’t disappoint! Various levels of fitness you can pick from. I...

Our visit to Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall was truly magical! We went early in the morning to beat the crowds, and it was the best decision – peaceful, fresh air, and the sound of waterfalls all to ourselves. Pure bliss! 🌞🌳🧘♀️
What makes this place so special is that you don’t just get one waterfall – you get FOUR uniquely beautiful waterfalls along a scenic forest path. Each has its own charm: from gentle, mossy curtains of water to powerful cascading flows. You’ll want to stop at every single one and take it all in 💧🌈📸.
The locals were incredibly kind and welcoming – some of the friendliest people we met in Bali! Always smiling, happy to chat, and clearly proud of the natural beauty they take care of. It made the experience feel even more meaningful 🙏❤️.
The trails are well-maintained, the signs are clear, and the whole area is full of lush greenery and good energy. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and serenity – and still feels like a hidden gem compared to more crowded spots in Bali.
If you love waterfalls, nature, and authentic local warmth – Banyu Wana Amertha is an absolute must-visit. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already wanting to...
Read moreA couple of notes on this place:
First of all, the entrance is really expensive compared to other local places. It costs 30k per person and parking is an additional 2k. Not sure why parking isn’t included… I got the impression that the guy was charging people according to how they looked because there was no advertised price anywhere. They have pamphlets but I suspect they have different ones for different people. I give it a 4/5 for price.
In terms of the waterfalls and hike, overall it’s quite pretty. There are two entrances at the bottom so you have to walk to the different ones individually. The waterfalls and surrounding landscape are picturesque.
⚠️ CAUTION: This isn’t the kind of place which is good for people with bad legs or issues walking. The steps are a bit inconsistent in the way down. Additionally, be VERY careful on the hike to the left. There is a wooden bridge next to the waterfall which is extremely slippery. I consider myself to be in shape and athletic and I fell on the wooden bridge and cut my knee open. I ended up going to the local medical clinic and getting stitches. I am completely fine and would definitely do the hike again but just want you to be aware. I also hope that the management place a sign AND...
