Luhur Besikalung Temple — Attraction in Bali

Unfortunately, no longer a 'hidden' temple. I saw a bunch of tourists being brought here by tour guides. Plus, the attendant demands a 'donation' to enter. News flash: it's not a donation if it's demanded before entry. Not sure where the money goes, but I think it would be simpler if they just charged admission - with numbered tickets. At least then it would be transparent ... For what it's worth, from the outside, it looked the same as the other multitude of temples in Bali, most of which do not...

Berdasarkan salah satu sumber yang diperoleh dari web, bahwa Pura ini menurut sejarahnya mulai didirikan pada tahun 917 Masehi. Informasi ini didapatkan dari tulisan yang terdapat di prasasti Babahan. Selain itu, nama dari Pura ini pun memiliki sejarah tersendiri. Pura ini bernama Besi kalung yang namanya berasal dari kata “Cala Silunglun” yang kemudian disingkat menjadi Sikalung untuk menyebutannya. Selain itu, ada sebuah lingga yang bisa Anda temukan di Pura tersebut dan saat dipukul bunyinya menyerupai bunyi besi.
