Must See Waterfall in Bali No. 4 – Singsing Waterfall or Daybreak Waterfall Bali Indonesia (Air Terjun Sing Sing Bali)
Not high but… - Highly recommended to couples, honeymooners and romance seekers
Singsing Waterfall is located in the Banjar Village, within the Labuan Haji Temukus district, about 3km from Lovina and 13km from Singaraja, Bali’s former capital. A trip to Singsing Waterfall can be perfectly combined with Dolphin Watching and an overnight stay is highly recommended as there are many staggering natural highlights located in the north of Bali. To those who stay in Lovina, due to the short distance to Daybreak Waterfall and the easy accessibility, it is highly recommended to go on a cycling tour to this lovely place of interest.
Termed by the locals as the Air Terjun Singsing, the location with its impeccable beauty, spectacular charm and astonishing view is truly a piece of eye candy.
The advantage of visiting this area, which is very popular with international and local tourists, is that you have a 2 for 1 offer. SingSing Dua, the second waterfall is located within a short walking distance from Daybreak Waterfall which is easily reached as it’s about 600 meters from the parking bay. You can swim in the lower and upper pools and both pools are ideal for a cooling freshwater dip.
The significance of this place is that it manages to give a purely romantic, exotic and exquisite touch to the atmosphere. Due to its natural scenery many nature lovers and couples love to share some peaceful moments watching the calm waters rippling down a cascade. For this reason, Singsing’s popularity has increased amazingly over the last couple of years which means that you don’t have to worry about meals and drinks at all. The place is already stalled with restaurants and it’s the perfect resting stop to enjoy delicious local food. Also some shops can be found, offering souvenirs, in case you would like to bring some home.
Although the Singsing Waterfalls are only 13 meters in height, they are the most romantic waterfalls in Bali.
Tip 1: In case you are not too tired and still able to find the time, climb up the hill near daybreak waterfall to get the most spectacular view of the far away glamour.
Tip 2: If you are a repeat guest to Bali, visit Singsing in the rainy season (from October / November to March / April) as farmers partially divert the river during the dry season.
Tip3: The mud baths here contain medicinal properties that are reportedly beneficial...
Read moreI’d give 4 stars for the experience but the falls themselves aren’t spectacular so 3 stars. We chose Sing-Sing because its the only waterfall in reasonable walking distance from our villa. We opted to do what Alex Hummel suggested- walk to the Sing Sing Resort.
From our villa it took about 1 hr and 30 mins along a lovely back track through the villages. Note there’s a very steep climb to the resort at the end, but we are in our early 40’s with low-moderate fitness and we managed, so you can too. We ate lunch there, the food was very nice (North Bali is still recovering from the pandemic- do visit now as it’s quiet), enjoyed the spectacular view to the ocean, and then went down to the waterfall via the stairs at the back of the resort.
As described they were very overgrown (maybe the resort will clip the bush back when they get customers again) and definitely take insect repellent. But it’s short and only slightly perilous. It was raining and it was ok.
I had a refreshing swim and we had the place completely to ourselves!!! We did not see any of these pushy touts others described, and the waterfall was free.
A beautiful day of exploring the region for us.
Note we went in wet...
Read moreParked and paid donation for parking our bike. Then started walking and two guys came with us, didn't ask them to they said nothing to us just came along. They "guided" us there despite not needing or wanting them, then when we got back afterwards asked for some money for guiding. Told us it's 100k IDR each. We gave them 70k total and they weren't happy with it but wasn't gonna give them anything at all, hadn't wanted them to come with us so they just have to deal. They even tried telling us the money wasn't for them it was for the environment and the government despite having seen both of them throwing cigarette ends into the jungle when they were smoking 🙄 The falls themselves were ok, not crazy spectacular, but it was just kind of tainted by the "guides" and their forceful and sneaky way of trying to get money out of you. If they had been up front and said they could guide us for 100k each we would have said no and left...
