The Masjid looks very elegant and majestic. I like the architecture and the atmosphere, but looks can be deceiving. If you look carefully there are some critical things there which is very poorly designed and should be looked at immediately. Otherwise it looks like the one managing this is stupid!

  1. The surrounding roads to access the masjid are not built to handle high traffic of thousands of people. Roads are very narrow. So there is always a traffic jam. How can you spend so much on the Masjid yet not help build the surrounding infrastructure??? Very stupid. Just look at the railway crossing...
  2. The men's toilets didn't have any toilet paper and was very dirty. The floor was slippery and dirty. The tap water was not flowing and people were queuing in certain areas. Where is the maintenance crew to keep the area clean???
  3. The men's toilets have standing urinals with no privacy. I've never seen this before in any Masjid. It is unIslamic and unhygienic. They should remove this and replace with a better design.
  4. The outside wudu stations looks very beautiful. But practically you have men and women mixing making wudu at the same areas. The awrah is showing. Not good! At least there is a segregated wudu area inside.
  5. The bridge to access the masjid has very poor lighting. Even the surrounding area around the Masjid has no lights. Someone can get hurt. Public safety should be number 1.
  6. People are selling things around the Masjid. This also means there's a lot of rubbish. Looks very bad.
  7. The handrailings inside the Masjid are poorly constructed and put together. Many of them were shaky and with enough force can break. What the heck? Who did the building audit for this Masjid???

Overall, although the Masjid looks good, it failed to complete the simple quality and safety aspects. It's all for a show. I can't imagine what kind of programs they have in the...

🕌 Masjid Raya Al-Jabbar, also known as Masjid Al Jabbar, is an impressive mosque located at Jl. Cimincrang No. 14, Cimenerang, Kecamatan Gedebage, Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Let me share some details about this magnificent place:

Official Name and Inauguration: The mosque's official name is Masjid Raya Al Jabbar (MRAJ). It was inaugurated on December 30, 2022, by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil².

Unique Features: Architectural Design: Masjid Raya Al-Jabbar stands out due to its unique design. It is built on a 25.9879-hectare retention pond (embung) in the Gedebage area. The building takes the form of a semicircle, making it an iconic structure. Capacity: The mosque can accommodate up to 60,000 worshippers, both inside and on the plaza. The interior can hold around 33,000 worshippers, while the remaining capacity extends to the plaza. Construction: The mosque features a main concrete structure with a long-span steel roof framework (99 meters). The roof is covered with glass and solid aluminum panels, reaching a height of 58 meters. Additionally, there are four towers, the tallest of which stands at 99 meters. Basement Museum: Within the mosque complex, you'll find the Museum of Rasulullah Saw, located in the basement of the mosque.

Location and Access: The mosque is situated near the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium and the Cimekar Train Station. If you're traveling by private vehicle, you can take either Jalan Soekarno-Hatta via Gedebage-Derwati or Jalan Soekarno-Hatta via Cimincrang, which is adjacent to Kampus II UIN SGD Bandung⁴⁵.

Feel free to visit this remarkable mosque and experience its grandeur...

During my recent trip to Bandung, I had the opportunity to visit the newly constructed Masjid Raya Al Jabbar, a grand mosque located in the Gedebage area. Also known as the “Floating Mosque”, this architectural marvel stands out not only for its religious significance but also for its futuristic and eco-friendly design.

The mosque is situated beside a large artificial lake, creating a unique reflection of the mosque’s domes and minarets on the water—especially beautiful during sunset. Architecturally, the mosque combines modern Islamic geometry with Sundanese design elements, creating a peaceful yet awe-inspiring atmosphere. Its vast prayer hall, adorned with minimalist patterns and natural lighting, can accommodate tens of thousands of worshippers.

Accessibility is excellent, with ample parking space, clean toilets, prayer facilities for women, and ramps for people with disabilities. Security and cleanliness were consistently well-maintained throughout my time there.

However, as the mosque has recently become a popular tourist attraction, it can get very crowded on weekends and public holidays. I recommend visiting during weekdays or early in the morning for a quieter experience.

In conclusion, Masjid Raya Al Jabbar is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of modern Islamic identity in Indonesia. It offers a tranquil and meaningful experience for both locals and...
