Saung Angklung Udjo is a remarkable traditional music school located in Indonesia, offering a mesmerizing cultural experience that showcases the beauty of traditional Indonesian puppetry and the enchanting sounds of the angklung. My recent visit to Saung Angklung Udjo left me in awe of the rich cultural heritage and the incredible talent displayed by the performers.

The first thing that struck me upon entering Saung Angklung Udjo was the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The traditional Indonesian architecture and lush green surroundings immediately transported me to a different world. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, ready to provide insights into the history and significance of the performances.

The highlight of my visit was the traditional Indonesian puppetry show. The puppeteers skillfully brought the intricate puppets to life, narrating captivating stories from Indonesian folklore and mythology. The attention to detail in the puppets' craftsmanship and the puppeteers' precise movements showcased a deep understanding and respect for this ancient art form.

The angklung performance was equally mesmerizing. The angklung, a traditional Indonesian musical instrument made of bamboo, produces enchanting melodies that resonate through the air. The musicians at Saung Angklung Udjo demonstrated exceptional skill and passion as they played harmoniously, creating a harmonious symphony of sound. The interactive nature of the performance allowed the audience to participate by playing the angklung themselves, fostering a sense of unity and connection.

Saung Angklung Udjo goes beyond being just a performance venue; it is a true educational institution. They offer workshops and classes for visitors to learn how to play the angklung and understand the intricacies of Indonesian puppetry. These interactive sessions allow visitors to immerse themselves in the culture and gain a deeper appreciation for the traditional arts.

The facilities at Saung Angklung Udjo were well-maintained and spacious, providing a comfortable environment for visitors. The outdoor amphitheater, surrounded by lush greenery, added to the overall charm of the place. The seating arrangement allowed for excellent visibility and acoustics, ensuring that every audience member could fully enjoy the performances.

Additionally, the commitment of Saung Angklung Udjo to preserving and promoting Indonesian culture is truly commendable. They actively engage with local communities and schools, organizing outreach programs and cultural exchanges. Their dedication to passing down these age-old traditions to future generations is both inspiring and admirable.

In conclusion, Saung Angklung Udjo offers an unforgettable cultural experience that celebrates the richness of Indonesian heritage. The combination of traditional puppetry and the enchanting sounds of the angklung creates a captivating and immersive journey into Indonesian culture. Whether you are a music enthusiast, a history lover, or simply curious about different cultures, a visit to Saung Angklung Udjo is an absolute must. The show separated into five parts. The first part was puppetry, which I found is super boring . It might becuz I don't understand the language but the skill of the person controlling puppet was not very good. If people want to watch puppetry, I would prefer visiting China or Taiwan, they got the best puppetry. Indonesia got their puppetry influenced from China. The second part was a bunch of kids bouncing out with a unknown dance. Tbh, I still didn't know what was that about. Children was acting messy and I think they shouldn't put children in their show. I would prefer some sexy girls instead lol. Next, the third part was the best part of the all. Two women were showing a traditional dance. That was the only part I found interested to me. The fourth part was to worst one. I don't even wanna look at the stage. Many little children were using traditional Indonesian instrument to play little twinkle little star and other ez song. Idk what's the point of that performance. Finally the last part, it was people performing songs by the traditional instrument and a weird dance. I think they're using music and dance to represent each part of indonesia. All the things were fine until a bunch of kids from the second part of the performance walked out. Omg the scene and the msuic were chaos and messy. I still don't understand why would they use so many children for their performance which pulled down the quality of it. No one wants to pay the ticket and watch so many kids messing around lol. Some kids and performers even had self conversation on the stage. They gave us the traditional instrument at the end to give it a try. Now i know why children could play this. The instrument is so simple that u only have to shake it to. Btw, there was a baby at the front roll kept running up the stage. I have no idea what their parents were doing. The baby had already messed up the stage and the parents were still taking picture of the baby and...
