Mt. Prau is in the village of Dieng, Wonosobo, mid Java, is a great place for camping and hiking, 2565 meters above sea level. The track is not too difficult to pass. there were three lines when I got there, Bull route, Wates village, and I forgot the other one. My trip to this location started from Jakarta by using bus transportation services from Terminal Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta to Wonosobo Terminal, from there I boarded public transportation to the Wonosobo traditional market to buy some needs like vegetables while hiking later. Not far from the traditional market, there is a transportation service to Dieng village at a cost of around 10-20k (IDR). The temperature in this area is quite cold when the summer can reach 5 ° C. Mt. Even though Gunung Prau did steal my heart, but I guess that will be the only mountain hiking experience that I...
Read moreOn August 10th was my first time hiking this mountain. It wa an amazing experience. We can see Sindoro & Sumbing Mountain from it's summit. More over, it has a very large area of summit, so many angle of views you can get there just to enjoy the beautiful sunrise or sunset. And so many spots to build the camp. It's just so many rules to follow too if you want to hike and camp on this mountain. There are 4 Basecamps there which you can chose where ever you want of the starting point to hike and each path of each basecamp has different challenges.
It was the best experience I've ever had to hike this mountain. I can't wait another chance to hike this mountain again.
