Piala Waterfall
Luwuk City is nicknamed the City of Water. In this area you can find many water attractions. One of them is the Cup waterfall. This tour is quite popular among travelers. Read moreWas perfect for a few hours in the morning before we headed to the airport for an afternoon flight. We went early (leaving hotel in town at 8) and beat the crowds which started to come around 11.
The road is rough getting up there, but drivers know how to navigate it well. The walk from the car park is short.
The waterfall is INCREDIBLE. Way more than I was expecting after seeing photos which made it look average. Cool refreshing water, lots of pools to swim in, rocks to scramble up, and pathways to make navigating from layer to layer much easier. We could have easily spent all day playing in the falls, but unfortunately had a flight to catch.
An extra plus is that the locals who charge the little 5k entrance fee also collect the trash left around the falls, which is much nicer than most waterfalls...
