Sure the place is nice and traditional but the locals do unnecessary things. We went to take pictures and brought our own Sumbanese clothing to take pictures with and a lady that owned a Sumbanese clothing store told us that we have to pay if we want to wear our OWN clothing that we brought! So if we want to take pictures with some Sumba vibes we would have to pay for her clothes or for our own clothes, how absurd!! I understand that they're trying to make money off of tourism but at least put up a sign or something saying that we can't bring our own, they just like to make up their own rules. We decided not to venture the rest of the village because we feared that the rest of the locals would ask for money constantly so we just took pictures from the...

It's a traditional village open for tourists to experience a cultural journey. There are so many kids that will expect you to give them some candies or treats, so make sure you bought some on the way. They will welcome you and see you songs. You can see the traditional house, the people, their cattles and some old tombs of the ancestors.

They are still building drainage and other facilities when we were there. Clean water is also a problem that they still dwell with. You will hear all the stories from the people, feel free to ask politely. I'm just not in for the cultural ceremony as they will have a dog chopped (not always, but I chose to avoid my heart breaking) so I make sure I don't go when it happens.

It's a lovely village though and you are...

Praijing village are traditional village. They are living near from Waikabubak city. If u start from Tambolaka, it will take 90 minutes. But if u start from Waingapu it will take 180minutes. Make sure u have food, no market there. But the place so love to chill and talk with each other.

The entrance fee is 10.000 IDR for local tourist. If u are the foreigner, ask your driver first. The best place for take picture on the north side of the village. You can see all from the hill.

But you will get the best feel if u walk around and make some conversation with villager. Dont hesitate to ask someone about something like Sumba cloth or sarong. They are very helpfull if u want to buy or just asking about the meaning of cloth. Because sumba clothes are...
