Be careful on the asphalt roads, there's a lot of sand and it's easy to fall. Ask the locals. Maybe wave some money and ask for guides, you will probably not find the road yourself. We wanted to go by ourselves, but you'd need a precise hiking map.... First it seemed that nobody knew there was a waterfall at all and they couldn't give even approximate instructions as to how to get there. Hiking boots! Or waterproof hiking sandals! The first part of the road is a stony hell. That's the easier part, then you go down through the forest, 45° slope, you'll exit in a rice field, where you go to the left, along the canal. The path leads you down a small waterfall, it's ok-ish to go barefoot, there's some sharp rocks and it's muddy and slippery sometimes, and there's ants, but it's totally possible to make the hike from here to the waterfall barefoot You'll enter the forest again and go down a 60° slope to a stream. Follow the stream and you will reach the waterfall. Don't take stuff that you don't need. Remember: everything you bring will weigh down on you on the way back, which is entirely uphill.

Amazing waterfall. It’s about half hour drive after turning off the main road. Google maps doesn’t take you to quite the right place so just ask people once you get close. You go into the local government building to pay the fee, and there are guys hanging out opposite who will guide you. The path starts near there. It’s about a 300m descent, the last bit quite steep - I’d recommend hiking boots. The waterfall is amazingly beautiful - plan some time to enjoy it, definitely take swimwear. We were the only ones there although another group came down just as we were leaving. Walk back up felt very hot and long, I think it was about 1 hr 15 mins up (maybe 1hr down). Worth it!

The best waterfall experience I had so far! I drove to the closest point of the waterfall on google maps and asked people on the street how to get there. It's a bit hidden so you need a guide, who you can hire for about 20-30k. So an indonesian teenager of about 15 years brought me there, it was a 35-40min walk through the jungle. At the end we arrived at this AMAZING waterfall and we were the only people there!! There are 3 or 4 natural pools and you can swim in them. The whole complex is just unbelievably beautiful with so many different part where water is running down. I definitely recommend comming here! Also the motorbike drive from Ruteng is pretty nice.
