The beach is white and might have used to be red at some point. Nowadays it's full of garbage from the ocean and people coming here (cigarette packs, etc.). The beach was very shallow until the next Gili, not swimmable and full of sea grass. You can't reach a snorkeling spot from here and there's nothing to see.
It's a normal beach, luckily we didn't have to pay anything here as we arrived during low tide and lunchtime.
The road leading to the beach is very good except for the last 600 meters. If you still decide to come here, leave the bike where there are still roots, except if you're having a cross bike. Otherwise you won't make it back, there are stone steps you can't make up with a scooter anymore without...
Read moreNot really pink and plenty of rubbish. The good thing is that when we arrived we found people collecting the rubbish in big bags and taking it away with boats which is fantastic. Access is free but it can be a challenging ride on a regular scooter. Mind the monkeys. For good swimmers this is the perfect access point for snorkeling from the shore to Gili Temeak, Gambir and Petelu but be very mindful of the current which can build up and the boats which take tourists to the popular...
