The rafting experience itself is top notch, the guides our family had, Bagia and Ari were excellent and very skillful (please tip them accordingly) The rapid was exhilarating, the river view was beautiful and scenic. The changing facilities at the end could be improved. The buffet lunch was decent.
I'm giving it 3 stars because of BMW rafting's non transparent pricing. I booked the rafting via the Telaga Waja Rafting (they are agents, google it and book it via them), this company is decent and honest in pricing. They advertised on their website for IDR350k (AUD35 for local, to which I asked what would be for foreign nationals and they said they will sell at the same price.
What I witnessed at the front counter of BMW rafting was something completely different and quite frankly disgusting practise. The guy at the front counter who could speak multiple languages quoted in english, in Arabic (yes I speak multiple languages too) whatever price he felt in the range of IDR1.5million (AUD150).
There weren't any advertised prices anywhere to be seen, so the price you get depends on whatever the guy wants. And whether you haggle or not, the price was already at the high end.
Yes, I can understand you want to charge foreign nationals more, that was the accepted practise in indonesia, yes their dollars are worth more, but this non-transparent pricing is just not ethical. If you want to charge the foreigners more, just advertise it.
Give the people who support Bali tourism your best hospitality and ethical practise.
I hope the management of this place saw this and decided to do...
ย ย ย Read moreWe booked our rafting trip from Seminyak. I would not recommend booking this trip from Seminyak because you spend most of your time in the car. We were driving for 4 1/2 hours. Also, do not go during dry season, since there is not enough water in the river.
When the seller recommended it, my husband said that he had heard that rafting was not good in the dry season because there was not enough water. The seller said that was not true and we were ignorant enough to believe him. He did give us a decent price (450,000 Rp per person), although we found out that some people in our group paid less. They seem to base the pricing on your nationality!
The water is truly low, almost feels like you're floating in a bathtub with big rocks and the raft gets stuck every 20 seconds. OK for the first 90 minutes, but very frustrating after 3 hours. The views are nice, but the river itself is quite dirty and trashy.
Changing room was tiny and crowded. Lunch was low-quality and did not taste fresh.
Tour said we would be picked up by 8- 8:30 and dropped off at 3 pm. We were picked up late (almost 9) and not dropped off until 5:30 pm. It took up basically an entire day, and we were left feeling...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently had an exhilarating experience river rafting that I'd highly recommend. Be sure to book online a day in advance to avoid paying double the price like I did. Despite this hiccup, the adventure was worth every penny.
Our guide was exceptionalโknowledgeable, friendly, and ensured we had a great time. My three-year-old daughter was initially scared but soon warmed up and ended up enjoying the ride immensely.
A word to the wise: bring your own food and snacks. The available options were far from edible. Additionally, if you want to enjoy fresh coconut water, carry some cash as cards are not accepted.
The natural scenery was absolutely stunning, making the overall experience unforgettable. There are facilities to change your clothes afterward, which is very convenient. Also, be sure to wear good shoes as there's a break during the trip where you'll walk on rocks.
If you're looking for a thrilling adventure amidst nature, this river rafting activity is a fantastic choice.
Another company to check out the price is Green Adventure Rafting which takes the same exact route in...
