This waterfall is amazing. The way in leads through a little farming village that is very pretty. The waterfall is fed by a spring, the waterfall has several terraces with pools at the bottom. I visited in the afternoon and it was quiet with only a few people there. It was pretty clear that the place has become an Instagram hotspot, so be prepared to wait around for the photoshoots to finish if you want to have a dip in the pool above the main waterfall. The water is a nice temperature, refreshing but not as cold as I would habe expected. Entry is by donation and definitely worth the price of admission. The stairs leading up to the waterfall are pretty steep and high in places and can get slippery with rain. In saying that there's a hand rail all the way up, and if you are hungry or thirsty, there's a little restaurant at the top. It's worth going up there as there is a viewing platform with sweeping views of the valley and...

EDIT after the answer: no problem for 20k/pax we gave more and the person ask for more than that… Unfortunately we can’t say it is a donation. The attitude was weird for me…

It said there is no entrance fee but donations appreciated. We prepare a good amount (higher than what our guide suggests to give)
They force you to write your name, and write the donation amount. When we gave our amount, they asked for more. I said it was my donation but they forced to rise the amount otherwise we could not go to the waterfall.
It was not a donation but a disguised entrance fee. I always tip and give donations for everything. I was quite surprised by this behaviour.
In another hand, the waterfall gives us a really nice viewpoint where you can take a swim!
There is also a very good restaurant with stunning view and it is...
Read moreVery nice waterfall with a great view down to the town below. It's an easy drive 80-90 minutes from Ubud. Lots of green vegetation everywhere. Donation was asked so I donated 10,000 IDR. The climb is very brief. Can leisurely walk to the top in 5-8 minutes. Even though it's COVID time, there's a about a dozen local visitors at the top. We all take turns to jump into the shallow pool to take these amazing photos. Wish it wasn't that busy so I can actually sit in it for long time to enjoy... But alas the enjoyment lasts only a few minutes as others were waiting their turns. Masks were worn up and down but everyone takes them off in the pool. LOL 😆 There's not alot to do up there but apparently they're building some sort of villa at the top. Who knows maybe they'll have a restaurant or cafe in the future up there?😁😎 Great family trip that any member can climb. Just be extra careful...
