Aek Rangat — Attraction in North Sumatra

The hot spring water is collected into baths like swimming pools. Women bath separately from men. When we were there the women were fully clothed & just sitting with their feet in the water. We paid extra to bath in the family pool, where my partner & I could go in together. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable in my swim suit. I'm a middle age woman so I have a very modest swim suit, but when everyone I see is dressed I was a bit uncomfortable. The water doesn't smell very strongly, but is very hot. It was a nice relaxing experience. The changing facilities are available bit run down, but ok, if there's not too many people trying to use them. Well worth a visit. Expect to pay a little extra. There is an entrance fee collected at the entrance gate. After you enter, there are several restaurants and each restaurant provides the hot spring water within their premises channelled from the nearby hot springs. If you buy something from the restaurant, they will provide free usage of the hot spring water, otherwise they will charge some fees like IDR 10,000 or so. Dulu sewaktu usia kuliah, pernah main ke sini bersama tim kampus. Mencoba fasilitas mandi air hangat. Tapi sempat dengar dari teman yg lebih dahulu mandi terus mampir ke rumah makannya, malah diminta supaya sluruh anggota yg mandi juga bayar kalau mau mandi. Padahal dengar dari salah satu anggota yg domisili memang di Pangururan itu, kalau mandi gak bayar asal ada teman/anggota yg beli di rumah makannya. Akhirnya sih gak tau dibayar atau di lobi oleh teman yg memang makan minum di sana. Saya soalnya hanya ingin mandi di sana. Sebenarnya beberapa tempat beda2 rasanya suhu airnya. Ada yang luas tempatnya, ada yg sempit. Pengaruh kali ya. Terakhir kali ke sana awal Januari 2019, sudah dikenakan UANG RETRIBUSI untuk masuk wilayah Aek Rangatnya. Tertulis di spanduknya hal itu sesuai peraturan PEMDA. Perorang Rp 5000. Mbak petugasnya bilang segitu. Jadi jangan kaget ya. Siapin diri sebelum mampir ke sana. Karna kan mungkin kaget, kayak saya.. 😅😅 karena dulu nggak bayar, udah lama. Naah Pas mau mandi malah dapat tempat mandi yg panasnya yaa 😞 terlalu panas sm kulit saya 😣, itu td, mungkin pengaruh luas penampungan airnya.. 😂 Saran bagi pengunjung, ditanya dulu baik2 sebelum memutuskan yg mana. Menu makanan ada yg ringan & yg berat. Minuman juga tersedia. Harga bersahabat. Jangan khawatir kalau soal halal. Tersedia kok. Sekian dulu...
