Hillpark Sibolangit — Attraction in North Sumatra

Hillpark Sibolangit is a great family destination and definitely a refreshing option for those visiting or living near Medan City. I had a genuinely enjoyable time with my family here, especially because most of the attractions are clearly designed with kids in mind. The highlight for us was definitely the Jurassic section, it completely blew my son’s mind. The dinosaur models, sounds, and overall atmosphere were surprisingly well done and engaging.

I visited on June 1st, 2025, during the long holiday season, and I honestly expected it to be super crowded. But to my surprise, the park wasn’t packed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We didn’t need to queue too long for the rides, and we had more space to explore comfortably. Most of the attractions looked like they’re in good condition and well maintained, which is something I truly appreciate, especially for a theme park like this that could easily fall into neglect without proper care.

If I could give a small suggestion, it would be to make better use of the entrance lobby right now, there’s only one small tenant, and it feels like a missed opportunity. A small café or refreshment counter would be great, especially for visitors who arrive early or want to chill before entering.

I really hope Hillpark continues to grow and gets more visitors in the future, because it’s clear they’ve put effort into the experience. With the right maintenance and some small improvements, this park definitely has the potential to become one of the must-visit attractions...

Yesterday was the Soft Opening date for Hill Park. So we went there to face new experiences with our family. As we know that the entrance is inside the villas area. We arrived there and it was really quiet. There was no sign of new entrance has relocated on the side of the main road. :( Everything was find after we passed the entrance area, but after we reached the outdoor area, it was really below our expectation. The toilets were below standard as well, dirty, bad smell, no rubbish can, no soap, no tissue or hand dryer at all. The 4D movies played horror movie which not suitable for kids as I saw several kids ran out of the theatre and crying just a few minutes after the movie started. There was no sign of min. age allowed & no poster of such horror movie there. However, the staffs were friendly & well trained enough. Overall, this is not ready for soft opening and not worthed of money for IDR 120K/ person. Hope you could upgrade in...

The only visible difference made can only be seen in the freshly painted walls, but only because the renovating wasn't complete when I arrived. Overall horrible hygiene, quite apparent in the toilets. There weren't any trashcans available in the toilets so we had to throw our trash in the foodcourt. Aside from the lack of maintainance, there were no noticeable updates. The rides were painted over, but posters from back in 2009 were still put up and the rides had a foul smell. Another issue was the lack of warning for the horror movie played in the 4d theater. The movie is inappropriate for children, a few ran out of the theater crying.
